Von den verschiedenen physikalischen Eigenschaften fester, flüssiger und gasförmiger Medien interessieren für wärmetechnische Berechnungen beson- iers das Wärmeleitvermögen A, die Viskosität und die spezifische Wärme c . Diese Stoffwerte werden u. a. für die Aufstellung und Benutzung p von thermischen Zustandsdiagrammen benötigt, mit denen die Berechnung thermodynamischer Prozesse wesentlich erleichtert wird. Sie dienen ferner als Berechnungsunterlagen für die Lösung zahlreicher verfahrenstechni- scher Wärmeübergangsprobleme. Obwohl für diese Zwecke ein umfangreiches Zahlenmaterial zur Verfügung steht, finden sich in den einschlägigerr technischen Tabellenwerken oft nur sehr lückenhafte Angaben, wenn Daten für höhere Drücke und Temperaturen benötigt werden. Überall dort, wo aus den bereits vorliegenden Zahlenan aben die Gesetz- ßigkeit für die Veränderung der Stoffwerte in Abhängigkeit von Druck und Temperatur graphisch oder numerisch ermittelt werden kann, ist es möglich, die fehlenden Werte durch Interpolation oder Extrapolation zu erhalten. Für Stoffe, von denen keine Daten bekannt sind - zum Beispiel für neue synthetische Produkte - lassen sich nach gewissen Korrespondenz- prinzipien Angaben aus denen verwandter Stoffe herleiten. Diese Methoden liefern in fast allen Fällen nur Anhaltswerte, die zwar für orientierende Abschätzungen sehr wertvoll sein können, für sichere und genaue Berech- nungen aber unzulänglich sind. Werden genauere Werte verlangt, dann ist man meistens auf eine experimentelle Bestimmung der gewünschten Daten angewiesen. Aus diesem Grunde wurde im Forschungsinstitut Verfahrenstechnik ein größeres Forschungsprogramm aufgestellt, dessen Ziel die Bereitstellung leistungsfähiger und präziser Meßapparaturen zur Ermittlung der obenge- nannten Stoffwerte ist.
