About the Book

ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

A unique, intimate and revealing book that portrays the thoughts of the Brazilian writer, winner of the Prince of
Asturias Award.

The Epic of the Heart shows us the author's vibrant interest in--and deep knowledge of--Latin American literary translation, as well as her teachers and admired writers, like García Márquez.

But in this book, Piñon also tackles an entire continent of issues, ideas, affections, passions, and obsessions. Always through literature, the writer tackles our
current lax morality, defending the fundamental place of cultures that modern times have tried to suffocate and thus celebrating their resistance. They are what lead me to roam the world with my imagination.
