Basis dieser Bewertung sollte eine valide, reliable und objektive, aber auch viable Messung sein. Auf welche Weise kann eine solche Messung in einem Musikunterricht stattfinden, der sich ästhetischer Bildung verschreibt? Wie können ästhetische Wahrnehmung und ästhetische Erfahrungen gemessen werden, um eine Bewertung überhaupt erst möglich zu machen? Bei welchen Gütekriterien kommt es zwangsweise zu Einbußen und können diese kompensiert werden? Mit diesen Fragen setzt sich die folgende Arbeit mit dem Ziel, im Musikunterricht nicht nur Theoriewissen bewertbar zu machen, auseinander. Dazu wird zunächst beschrieben, was eine ästhetische Wahrnehmung ausmacht, um auf dieser Grundlage zu überprüfen, wie ästhetische Wahrnehmung im Unterricht begünstigt werden kann. In einem zweiten Schritt wird Grundsätzliches zu Messungen dargelegt, damit schließlich in einem dritten Schritt, das Vorangegangene zusammenführend, die Frage beantwortet werden kann, ob die Möglichkeit der Messung und Bewertung von ästhetischer Wahrnehmung gegeben ist. Ästhetische Wahrnehmung ist für Menschen alltäglich. Sie kann überall stattfinden - ob im Konzertsaal, in der Stadt oder in der Natur. Es gibt allerdings Situationen und Objekte, die von vornherein für ästhetische Wahrnehmung konzipiert sind (z.B. Aufführungen, Kunstwerke, Dekorationsartikel usw.). Zu diesen gehört selbstredend auch die Musik, die ästhetische Wahrnehmung als einen ihrer zentralen Vollzüge (wenn nicht als den zentralen Vollzug) behaupten kann. Im Unterricht muss es Schülerinnen und Schülern darum ermöglicht werden, ästhetische Wahrnehmung zu vollziehen.
