Cuando tuve oportunidad de leer este libro, me encontré con que es el claro producto de un autor que con toda honestidad, hace de la literatura un acto de amor y no un mero pasatiempo. En esta obra, Ariel Van de Linde se expone al lector, sin ocultar la influencia de lecturas de autores consagrados ni negar en las historias a sus seres amados o conocidos, como tampoco, a su ciudad de pertenencia. Ejemplo es el relato "La Ciudad Oculta del Norte," donde se entremezcla la ontología fantástica, con sus propias vivencias en una ciudad que bien podría ser la propia o donde también viven sus personajes. En los relatos que componen "�refe´s," Ariel Van de Linde, consigue dar rienda a la fantasía de lo sobrenatural y al juego de las palabras, donde los nombres de los protagonistas dejan entrever un romance con sus propias lecturas que lo desarrollan como narrador. En la historia titulada "A modo de nota," Ariel Van de Linde, se permite crear un argumento donde junto a su inventiva, comparte con generosidad, el rico sabor de sus lecturas y conforma una ficción amena y de buena calidad, donde pueden reconocerse hechos y personajes cercanos a la realidad cotidiana y contemporánea. Es transgresor en "La invisible," donde deja revolcar a su personaje en una moral prostibularia y una carga de erotismo que sin embargo, no cae en la vulgaridad ni la grosería en la que cualquier autor novel se hubiera tentado a explotar. En "Una ventana abierta en Navidad," se permite tener opinión formada a través de sus personajes y convierte al lector en un cómplice de sus propias inquietudes y cuestionamientos; todo ello, sin dejar de jugar con la mística y la entelequia. Influencias borgianas aparecen en La sombra de una niña dormida; sin embargo, no deja de ser él -el mismo autor-, quien se adueña de la idea y de la voz del relato, convirtiéndolo en una atrapante historia, mezcla de realidad y fantasía. "El sueño de un insecto," es acaso uno de los relatos más kafkianos del libro; a su vez, el más surrealista que, como todo surrealismo, es el que nos deja pensando con un sabor extraño en los ojos. Es en "El prisma del Tiempo," donde se conjugan los básicos conceptos de la Física, para dejarle paso a los placeres ficcionales del realismo mágico moderno, junto a las mitológicas leyendas griegas. Sin duda, este es otro de los relatos fantásticos que estimulan su lectura con avidez. Seguramente en "Un jardín, ella y el extraño," se podrá encontrar a uno de los más sorprendentes ejemplos de la literatura de Ariel Van de Linde. El poder de la prosa consigue adueñarse de la imaginación del lector y sorprenderlo al final, como todo buen narrador consigue hacerlo. Posiblemente, del mismo modo que una inocente víctima queda atrapada en la sutil telaraña literaria, urdida por la imaginación y la prosa. �refe's, es una de las mejores obras de autores jóvenes que he leído en los últimos tiempos. El cierre con "El libro de los Ausentes" es el más complejo y rico de los relatos de esta obra literaria y un claro referente de la calidad narrativa de su autor. Cada uno de sus relatos es un claro ejemplo de síntesis y conocimientos sobre el espíritu humano, permitiéndose dar luz a la compleja identidad emocional de cada personaje.
