Diese Würdigung versteht jeder Mensch anders, denn sie kann zum Beispiel in Form von Geld, durch Beförderung oder aus einem simplen Dankeschön bestehen. In traditionellen Unternehmen wird verlangt seine Arbeit sehr gut zu machen, aber der Anreiz und die Freude bezüglich der Arbeit bleiben zurück. Wie schafft man es also, dass der Arbeitnehmer gerne zur Arbeit geht? Es gibt viele Bücher und Fachliteraturen zu dem Thema Motivation und deren Abhängigkeit zur Produktivität. Diese beinhalten viele Varianten wie man seine Mitarbeiter motivieren kann. Doch leider haben viele davon ein grundlegendes Problem. In der Theorie sind sie gut erklärt und leicht anwendbar, jedoch für die Praxis kaum durchzuführen. Sie bauen auf die Individualität des einzelnen Mitarbeiters auf und es wird vorausgesetzt, dass man jeden Mitarbeiter auch individuell behandelt. Um dieses zu gewährleisten, benötigt man zusätzliche Kapazitäten an Fachkräften oder aber einen erhöhten Zeit- und Arbeitsaufwand für die Vorgesetzten. Auch wenn sich das für kleinere Unternehmen mit wenig Hierarchie durchsetzen ließe, ist es für große Unternehmen mit den verstrickten Strukturen und Abteilungen mit gravierenden Kosten und einem hohen Zeitaufwand verbunden. Dies bedeutet aber nicht, dass wir die Motivation komplett vernachlässigen können, denn sie ist einer der wichtigsten Faktoren für das Human-Resource-Management. Vielmehr ist es wichtig, den richtigen Ansatzpunkt zu finden und die nötigen Voraussetzungen zu schaffen. Eine geringe Anzahl an Unternehmen hat sich diesem Problem angenommen und ihre eigenen Lösungsansätze gefunden.
