About the Book

English summary: What is contained in the term non-conceptuality comprises a series of theoretical and pragmatic means of comprehending reality, of which two in particular are focal points in this book: metaphor and myth. Metaphors and myths, as elements of non-conceptuality, are therefore fundamental in the imprinting of concepts and associated connotations in meaning as for variations in those concomitant concepts and connotation. The conceptual elements of a theory, which over the indirect course of non-conceptuality gains normative value, are also invariably guided by cultural and period-specific expectations and motives. The goals of this book are, on the one hand, to clarify the question of the causes of the normative influence of metaphorical mode of expression in the process of conceptualization and on the other hand to question the subtle semantic potential of each linguistically conventionalized pattern of thought, with which truths are woven or produced. Who looks behind the semantic veil of the suggested concept will observe that not everything that appears immediate to us is without blemish in its epistemological qualities, which likewise seem epistemologically legitimate. Selections from philosophers, such as Plato, Aristotle, Friedrich W. Nietzsche, Paul Ricoer and Hans Blumenberg, who have fleshed out a diagnosis of this conflict, including, are included in this volume.
