Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2006 im Fachbereich Germanistik - Ältere Deutsche Literatur, Mediävistik, Note: 1,0, Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Veranstaltung: Erich Auerbachs "Mimesis", Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Seit der Zeit der Kirchenväter wird der Zusammenhang zwischen Altem und Neuem Testament als Verhältnis von Verheißung und Erfüllung ausgelegt. Das Geschehen von Ereignissen und das Auftreten von Personen des NT sollen demnach bereits im AT angekündigt worden sein. Die Verheißung wird in der christlichen Terminologie mit Typus bezeichnet, die Erfüllung des Angekündigten mit Antitypus. So ist z. B. Adam der Typus Christi: Adam hatte Teil am Sündenfall und am Ausgestoßenwerden aus dem Paradies; Christus ist dann insofern der Antitypus des Adam dessen Leben die Geburt Christi verheißen soll und mit ihm die Erlösung von der menschlichen Erbsünde. Diese Form der Bibelexegese wird als typologische Interpretation oder auch als Figuraldeutung bezeichnet. Die figura als Auslegungsverfahren nimmt zwar ihren Ursprung in der Bibelausdeutung, ist aber nicht auf sie beschränkt. Gerade im Mittelalter prägte sie die Denkweise der Menschen. Und so ist sie auch in der profanen mittelalterlichen Literatur anzutreffen. Diese Arbeit untersucht die halbbiblische Verwendung der figura am Beispiel eines Philippspruches Walthers von der Vogelweide. In Kapitel 2 soll zunächst die figura exakt bestimmt und ein anschließender Umriss ihrer Verwendungsweise gegeben werden (2.2). Dazu findet sich in 2.1 eine kurze etymologische Geschichte des Wortes figura sowie seines Bedeutungswandels hin zum Gegenstand christlich-mittelalterlicher Weltdeutung. Kapitel 3 beschäftigt sich mit dem Textmaterial und gibt eine geschichtliche Einführung, die die das ausgewählte Gedicht umrankenden historischen Hintergründe darstellt (3.1). Im zweiten Teil des dritten Kapitels schließlich wird das Gedicht interpretiert und aufgezeigt wie es sich durch den typologischen Zusammenhang mit immenser Wirkungskraft
