Mit seinen experimentellen Methoden studierte er soziale Probleme und prägte somit die Gestaltungs- bzw. Motivationspsychologie (vgl. Rudolph, 2003. S. 84). Nachdem sich Kurt Lewin Zeit seines Lebens ausführlich mit den gestaltungs- und willenspsychologischen Problemen und den dazugehörigen Forschungsexperimenten befasst hat, konstituierte er aus Komponenten beider Bereiche und eigenen Annahmen die "Feldtheorie". Die Feldtheorie betont den dynamischen Zusammenhang von Wahrnehmung, Erlebten und Verhalten. Sie ist ohne Zweifel die bedeutendste und einflussreichste Arbeit Kurt Lewins (vgl. Lück, 1996. S. 1). Handeln sollte nicht in einzelnen Teilen analysiert werden, vielmehr sollte man von der Analyse der Gesamtsituation ausgehen. Lewin knüpfte mit seiner Theorie an die physikalische Feldtheorie Einsteins an, nach der eine Gesamtheit gleichzeitig bestehender Tatsachen, die als gegenseitig voneinander abhängig begriffen werden, ein Feld genannt werden (vgl. Rudolph, 2003. S. 87). Wichtige Elemente der Feldtheorie sind dementsprechend die physikalischen Begriffe Energie, Spannung bzw. Intention, Bedürfnis und Valenz. Die Feldtheorie fällt heute in den Bereich der Motivationspsychologie. Motivation ist die allgemeine Bezeichnung für Prozesse, die körperliche und psychische Vorgänge auslösen, steuern oder aufrechterhalten. (vgl. Zimbardo, Gerring, 2003. S. 350). Der Begriff der Motivation wird verwendet, um die Bevorzugung ganz bestimmter Handlungen, die Intensität von Reaktionen und die Persistenz des Handelns bei der Verfolgung von Zielen zu erklären. Individuelles Verhalten kann durch Motivation und somit auch durch die Feldtheorie erklärt werden. Als Einstieg in meine Arbeit werde ich einige prägnant
