Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Pädagogik - Sonstiges, Universität Bielefeld, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: In einer Zeit in der die Form offener, rassistischer Gewalt spürbar angestiegen ist, ist der Bedarf an Beratungs- und Bildungsarbeit gegen Rechtsextremismus und Rassismus stark gestiegen. Doch nicht nur, wenn Rassismus in Verbindung mit demonstrativen Gewalttaten auftritt, sollte das Thema größere Aufmerksamkeit erfahren und thematisiert werden. Rassismus äußert sich nicht immer offensiv, nicht immer feindselig, sondern ist in latenter Form durch Alltagsrassismus allgegenwärtig. Er stellt ein Phänomen dar, welches tief in der Mitte der Gesellschaft verankert ist, sich durch unreflektierte sprachliche Äußerungen manifestiert und ein Resultat verfestigter Handlungs- und Denkweisen ist, welche zur Ausgrenzung, Benachteiligung und Verletzungen der Betroffenen führen (Ehlen, 2015; Höfel & Schmidt, 2018; Leiprecht, 2015). Im Kontext der Schule tritt Rassismus vor allem durch individuelle, alltägliche und institutionelle Diskriminierung auf. Herkunft und Kultur führen zwischen Schüler_innen weitaus häufiger zu Konflikten auf dem Schulhof und im Klassenraum, als es die Mehrheitsgesellschaft wahrnimmt. Doch nicht nur dort, auch durch die Elternschaft, die Lehrpersonen oder die Institution Schule an sich kommt es zu diskriminierenden Handlungs- und Verhaltensmustern, ob nun gewollt oder unbeabsichtigt. Wird für das Thema Rassismus an Schulen kein angemessener Umgang ermöglicht und umgesetzt, führt dies zwangsläufig zu Konflikten. Im Kontext der kulturellen Vielfalt entwickelte sich für die Schulen die Herausforderung Rassismus in Form von Diskriminierung und Ausgrenzung aufgrund wahrgenommener Unterschiede zu erkennen, zu thematisieren und damit für den Abbau ethnischer Vorurteile zu sorgen, um für jeden Lernenden und Lehrenden ein Umfeld zu schaffen, indem er sich respektiert und sicher fühlt (Avci-Werning, 2004).
