Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2016 im Fachbereich Orientalistik / Sinologie - Japanologie, Note: 1,3, Universität Leipzig, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Ich möchte in dieser Arbeit kurz darstellen, wie der Yuru-chara zum Kommunikationsmittel für PR einer Region wird und welche Informationen dabei beispielsweise den Weg in die Öffentlichkeit finden können. Dazu soll zuerst definiert werden, was mit Yuru-chara gemeint ist und im Folgenden auf die Geschichte der Maskottchen eingegangen werden. Daraufhin folgen Definitionen von Kommunikationsmittel und PR welche zum Schluss der Arbeit auf drei als repräsentativ gewählte Charaktere angewendet werden soll um zu zeigen welche Funktion die Maskottchen im Kommunikationsprozess einnehmen. Es gibt sie in ganz Japan, sie sind weich, sehen niedlich aus und scheinen nie ganz bei der Sache zu sein - Yuru-chara. Japan ist ein Land, welches mit Charakteren nur so überfüllt ist, ob es die weltweit bekannte Hello Kitty ist, das Maskottchen der Polizei oder die in Japan mit offenen Armen aufgenommenen Disney-Charaktere; Maskottchen haben schon lange einen Platz in der japanischen Lebenswelt. Die meisten der Charaktere bisher waren jedoch rechtschaffene Vorbilder für Jung und Alt. Wenn vielleicht auch etwas schelmisch so waren die Maskottchen immer bei der Sache uns Feuer und Flamme die Welt zu einem besseren Ort zu machen. Als Gegenpol zu den bisher genannten vorbildhaft handelnden und soliden Maskottchen haben sich in den letzten Jahren die sogenannten Yuru-chara entwickelt. Yuru-chara zeichnen sich eher dadurch aus, dass sie weniger vorbildhaft sind und stattdessen ein "schlappes" bzw. "weiches" Verhalten an den Tag legen. Diese neue Form der Maskottchen verschafft dem Betrachter ein Gefühl von Ruhe und zeigt, dass es in Ordnung ist, wenn man ab und zu mal etwas durchhängt. Das Ziel dieser niedlich schlappen Maskottchen ist es außerdem ihre Heimatregion zu bewerben, weshalb jeder, der etwas für seine Heimat übrig hat, die Charaktere unt
