About the Book

If you've heard, "You're Funny! You Should Be A Comedian", your entire life, this book is for you! Jerry Mabbott, a 25 year comedy veteran teaches you everything you need to know to have success in stand-up comedy. In this book, you'll learn how to write unique material that will make strangers laugh, how to handle hecklers, how to get stage time, how to hone your skills, even how to handle stage fright... This is a great book for those wanting to get into the business, those that are in the business and feeling stagnant or even those who just want to become a better public speaker by adding humor to their presentations, speeches, etc.
About the Author: Jerry Mabbott has been a professional comedian for more than 25 years. He has worked with the industry's best, including Sinbad, Carlos Mencia, Pauley Shore, Bobcat Goldthwaite, Ray Ramano, Jeff Foxworthy, Bill Engvall and more. Jerry's success has landed him crowd warm up jobs for Castlerock Pictures in films like "Forget Paris", with Billy Crystal, "Sunset Park", with Rhea Pearlman and he co-starred in the independent film, "Comic Threads". In addition to many television appearances, Jerry has performed at some of the largest corporations in the nation, such as Bell South, The Utah Jazz, Citadel Broadcasting and many more. Jerry has also hosted award winning radio shows, has written, produced and appeared in many television and radio commercials. Most importantly to Jerry, he has taught hundreds of people the art of stand-up comedy, with many alumni doing spots on "Late Night, with Craig Ferguson", "Conan O'Brien" and more. He even had ABC's "America's Funniest People" shooting multiple episodes - with his best alumni - in his backyard in Irvine, California.
