About the Book

"And the Lord answered me, and said, Write the vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run that readeth it. For the vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry...the just shall live by his faith." Habakkuk 2:2-4 KJV It was more than 25 years ago when the Lord first gave me this scripture. I did not know how long I had to wait but I knew that it was going to be a long process before I got the full meaning of what God was telling me about my life's direction. The writing of this book signifies the release of my prophetic petitions to the Lord and I believe that this is a positive and productive move into the purpose of God. I hope you enjoy reading my poetry as much as I enjoyed writing it. I thank you and God for blessing me with your prayers and encouragement "Your Perfect Will" is a collection of God-Inspired poetry that I started writing back in 1990. Whenever I went through life changing experiences; whether it was good or bad, I would write poetry to express my feelings. Most of my poetry started out as songs; however, I am not a singer, so I felt it would be best to present my work in poetic form. With help from God and encouragement from my loved ones, I was able to present to you the best poetry from my collection. I am greatly blessed with the opportunity to make this my first publication. The Word of God was and still is the foundation for each and every poem that I write. I know that God is calling me to minister to people who are hurting in many areas of their lives. I find it an honor and a great privilege to have this opportunity to inspire, encourage, and uplift the hearts of the many people who read this book. Be blessed and encourage others by giving "Your Perfect Will" as a gift to someone who needs a word of life spoken into their hearts. Paulette
About the Author: My Biography My name is Paulette Chapman. I was born on September 28, 1960. My parents Connie and Jesse Chapman raised six children together: Juanita, Sylvia, Jessie Ann, Milton, Mary Lou, and me. We grew up in the Van Dyke Projects of East NY, Brooklyn. My mother took us to church every Sunday and taught us about the love and saving grace of Jesus Christ. We attended Bibleway Church of God, Apostolic. Bishop Edward Williams was our pastor. I got baptized in the name of Jesus Christ at the age of ten. I attended the public elementary schools and attended Clara Barton High School for Health Professions. In my senior year, I studied to be a Nurses Aid and graduated in 1978. I attended Baruch Business College for six months and dropped out. I really did not have a plan for my future. In 1978, I got saved and filled with the Holy Ghost at the Greater Bibleway Temple Church of God, Apostolic. Bishop Huie Rogers was my pastor. I learned so much about the Lord. I am glad I had that experience. I loved to read novels, autobiographies, fiction, Bible stories and poetry. I loved Christian poetry the most because it was always so positive and uplifting. I was painfully shy and couldn't picture myself sharing what I loved with others. After a broken marriage and several failed relationships, I found myself raising three kids without a husband. In 1990, after a near-death experience, I renewed my vows to God. While on a consecrated fast with my church; The Lord began ministering to me through poems and songs. I continued to write poems but I did not know how to get them published. Everywhere I looked, I ran into road blocks because it wasn't my time. It took twenty years for me to come to a spiritual maturity that allowed the Lord to take control in my life. I fought with depression, low self esteem, and poverty, among other things. My kids are grown now and I am blessed with three precious grand kids that I love so very much. I heard my pastor say that one will never truly be happy until he or she starts working at what they love to do the most. I prayed about it and by the leading of the Holy Ghost, I started getting my poetry ready for publication. I found great comfort in writing inspirational poetry and now an even greater joy in sharing it with you. I am excited to present to you, my first book of poetry, "Your Perfect Will."
