I didn't know what to do, how to get out. I wasn't equipped to save myself and take control of my care and future. I am living proof that I successfully divorced my husband. I am independent, self-sufficient and very happy. I survived a lengthy and stressful divorce process. You can, too. Deciding to leave your marriage is a big decision. It is lonely. Read through it more than once. Highlight the points that stand out for you. Refer to the sections that apply to your current stage in the process. Keep it in your purse, or under your bed. Hide it from anyone that should not be aware that you are considering a divorce. It's meant to be your secret friend. I was completely ignorant about how to leave my husband and what the divorce process was going to entail. When I asked my husband for a separation, I didn't care. I just wanted out. What unfolded for me turned out to be some of the most difficult, challenging, rewarding, and shocking months of my life. Much of what I learned is not anything that my friends or my lawyer could help me with. That is why I wanted to write down what I learned and share it with you. I have valuable insight and information to share with you. It was not easy to write this book since it brought back so many feelings and memories of a difficult period in my life. I just felt strongly that I had to write down what I learned so that others might benefit from my experience. I hope you benefit from the information in this book.
