Durch den Fachkräftemangel und der demographischen Entwicklung, rechnen diese Unternehmen, dass es bei über einem Drittel der zur Neubesetzung vakanter Personalstellen im Jahr 2014 schwierig wird, diese Stellen zu besetzten und bei 5,8 Prozent der Stellen sehen diese Unternehmen gar kein geeignetes Personal auf dem Arbeitsmarkt vorhanden. Zusätzlich wird der Mangel an geeigneten Arbeitskräften, auch bedingt durch die politisch gewollte abschlagsfreie Rente nach 45 Versicherungsjahren, immer stärker. Der demographische Wandel kann kurz so zusammengefasst werden, dass die potenziellen Mitarbeiter eines Unternehmens immer weniger werden, die bestehenden Mitarbeiter immer älter und die Kulturen der Mitarbeiter immer vielfältiger werden. Wegen diesen Schwierigkeiten auf dem Personalbeschaffungsmarkt wird es für die Unternehmen immer wichtiger, die Fluktuationsrate im Unternehmen zu reduzieren und die gut ausgebildeten und motivierten Mitarbeiter langfristig im Unternehmen zu halten. In der Studie 'Recruiting Trends 2014' gaben die Top-1000-Unternehmen aus Deutschland und die Top-300-Unternehmen aus den Branchen Health Care, IT und Maschinenbau an, dass für sie die Mitarbeiterbindung und das Entwickeln von Mitarbeiterbindungsstrategien die größten internen Herausforderungen für die Personalbeschaffung sind.
