About the Book

The Wonky Witch is the exciting tale of a young witch, Maude Sinks, during her first year at the prestigious wizard school, Abracadabra Academy. Maude is always messing things up, and she is scared that she will continue to be a screw-up at her new school. In classes, she is constantly falling off of her broom, making the wrong potion, and tripping over her robes. While becoming friends with a boy in her class, Adair, Maude stumbles upon an evil plot. In order to keep this creepy event from happening, Maude and Adair break a bunch of school rules, steal a paper, work in the mailroom, deal with a group of crazy older wizards, and eat Eyeball ice treats. With potions bubbling and spells flying, will ten year-old Maude save the day or still be a screw-up?
About the Author: Becky Titelman grew up in Forest Hill, Maryland, a suburb of Baltimore. She has been dancing since the age of three, acting since the age of six, and writing for as long as she can remember. She has performed in many musical theatre productions and professional musicals. She took creative writing classes while attending Elon College in North Carolina, where she majored in Music Theatre with a minor in Dance. During her summers, she performed professionally at HersheyPark in Pennsylvania, Seaside Music Theatre in Florida, Allenberry Playhouse in Pennsylvania, Main Street Theatre in Pennsylvania, and Wild Adventures Theme Park in Georgia. After college, Becky taught dance in North Carolina and concentrated on her writing in her spare time. Becky lived in New York City for six years, but she moved back to Maryland in 2009. Currently, she still teaches dance and lives with her three year-old Black Lab/Border Collie mix, Lumos. Becky's loves include writing for children, working on her "wonky" website, singing, dancing, and teaching others. The Wonky Witch was first self-published in 2005, and the second book in her magical series, The Wonky Witch and the Wizard-napping, was released in October of 2006. The third book in the series, The Wonky Witch and the Witching Well was released in 2009. Now in 2013, Becky releases her new second edition of the first book, The Wonky Witch, which is a longer, more detailed version of the story. After all, Becky says that an author's work is never done. She could edit, and edit, and edit again, which is a labor of love in her work. Her new book outside of the Wonky series, The Stable Elf, is a fun holiday children's novel that was released in December of 2012. Becky Titelman continues to challenge her fans with new contests and often updates the website she created for her books, www.wonkywitch.webs.com. She also e-mails back and forth with her readers, allowing them to ask her questions and get advice on stories they are writing. Becky feels that it is necessary to not only promote her books in the schools and libraries, but also to encourage reading and writing among the children she meets. Parents thank her often for the role model she has become for their kids. Her devotion to her fans has helped the author gain not only a fast-growing fan base, but a large loyal group of readers, who are spreading the word. Becky is eager to see where The Wonky Witch will take her, not only as a writer, but as a person.
