About the Book

Her life began with the memories of her biological father stabbing up her stepfather when she was one year's old. She knows more than ever the power of autobiographical memory and the long-term effects they can have on one's life. Memories are the most powerful force when it comes to the mind. Our memories drive our perception which guides our direction. The choices we make are a reflection of our memories. This is taken for granted by everyone of us. We do not take into consideration the effects of the memories we leave within someone's mind. Neither do we want to take accountability or responsibility for them. This makes us vulnerable targets to confusion and delusion thus, never living in reality but in an illusion. I will take you along my journey to give you the direction of my planted perception in hopes that you too, will gain the ability to analyze your memories. Therefore having the ability to understand self and uproot what should not be planted in your garden because it threatens the beauty of it. Taking your power back is time-consuming but worth it. Writing this book series has allowed me the ability to do just that. Thank you for your support and may you gain wisdom from reading.
About the Author: Philadelphia native Shalilya Henry grew up in the heart of Philadelphia in what they call the Norris Street Projects. A project is exactly what it was an environment which consisted of drug dealers, drug addicts, and shootings almost daily, day and night. North Philly is where she spent her earlier years later moving throughout the Tri-State Area from south to northeast Philly. She went on to model, write poetry, songwriting and recording, which she was the executive producer on her two latest releases "They Can Not Understand and "How Could You". She is currently pursuing higher education majoring in Forensic Psychology. A single mother of two boys, Shalilya preservers through suffering a nervous breakdown as a result of her co-worker's child and her children's father who attempted to take her life in 2008. This was followed by Severe Anxiety and PTSD. She has found the courage to pursue her dreams despite of, and share her talents with the world. After years of doctors who were not able to assist in her healing, Shalilya became fed up and decided to figure it out on her own. Thus, writing a series of books, songs, poetry and going back to further her education so she can be better equipped in helping others. Which is something she loves, and her mission is to educate in an attempt to prevent others from going through the same senseless experiences she has. Her traumas have sent her on a quest to assure that this happens. You can find more of her projects on her website @Shalilya.com
