About the Book

This story is about one of the Wisnook Tribal legends, albeit a lesser legend, but nonetheless, one of great significance. We know the greatest legend among the Wisnook is the White Panther or the spirit leader of the tribe. At the time of this story the steamboat had recently been invented. These powerful machines were beginning to travel the larger waterways. A young man without prior knowledge of such a contraption became familiar with a few of the men who were searching for new ways of travel to improve commerce and human transportation. This story involves the uncanny innocence of a young Indian lad who with good luck and the right companions would be able to do more for the world than he would have otherwise had he not been summoned away from the comfort and friendly life among his family and peers. Did I say peers, he had no peers. He was that much different. His situation was much different than any normal boy born into the Wisnook Tribe, he had a distinct birth characteristic that made him one of the most reserved and most challenged lads of his time. He found it very difficult to be normal even though he didn't mind his difference.
About the Author: Dr Robert E McGinnis has been writing since his first successful detective story in his English Literature class back in the late fifties. He published his first book in 1979 and has picked up speed from there. His first book, "In Search Of Paradise" is in the third printing at this time and another version is envisioned for the future. Robert has seldom held less than two jobs at a time and in many of those work years also attended college until he achieved his PhD in Public Administration in 1981. When he defended his thesis, his advising professor at Nova Southern University, told him. "When you leave here you will become a writer." I guess he saw something of the a future in his writing. All books are offered on Amazon, 1 The Paradise Series, 2 The Little Eagle series, 3 The White Panther series, and the 4 Wisnook series and a fifth series yet unnamed. Robert retired from teaching before the turn of the century and has devoted his time to his family, writing, and giving back to nature. In his coexistence with nature he uses his furniture making skills by recycling fallen and damaged trees. When the trees are damaged by storms he hires a saw-mill to cut these useless trees into boards for furniture making.
