Technologien und Systeme, die eine Produktivitätsverbesserung garantieren, können kopiert oder eingekauft werden und stellen demnach nur noch geringfügig einen Wettbewerbsvorteil dar. Somit rückt das "Humankapital", die Mitarbeiter, in den Vordergrund. Leistung, Motivation und Zufriedenheit der Mitarbeiter bestimmen die Wirtschaftlichkeit und Effizienz eines Unternehmens. Die Mitarbeiter werden zu Trägern einer gemeinsamen Kultur des Unternehmens, die es ihnen ermöglicht, Ziele optimal zu verwirklichen und sich als Subkultur an äußere und innere Einflüsse anzupassen. Die Kultur drückt sich als geteiltes Verständnis von Denk- und Verhaltensmustern aus und beeinflusst Handlungen und Entscheidungen ihrer Träger. Diese Auffassung von Kultur kann auch auf ein Unternehmen bzw. eine Organisation übertragen werden. [...] In dieser Arbeit gehe ich davon aus, dass sich die Unternehmenskultur auf das Unternehmen auswirkt. Es soll aber im Besonderen geklärt werden, welchen Zusammenhang es zwischen der Unternehmenskultur und den Mitarbeitern gibt, d. h. wie sich eine gemeinsame Kultur auf den einzelnen Mitarbeiter auswirkt. Der zweite Schwerpunkt liegt bei der Kommunikation und inwieweit diese Ausdruck der Unternehmenskultur sein kann.
