About the Book

Tiffany Aching put one foot wrong, made one little mistake . . . And now the spirit of winter is in love with her. He gives her roses and icebergs, says it with avalanches and showers her with snowflakes - which is tough when you're 13, but also just a little bit . . . cool. And just because the Wintersmith wants to marry you is no excuse for neglecting your chores. So Tiffany must look after Miss Treason, who's 113 and has far too many eyes, learn the secret of Boffo, catch Horace the cheese, stop the gods from seeing her in the bath - 'Crivens!' Oh, yes, and be helped by the Nac Mac Feegles - whether she wants it or not. But if Tiffany doesn't work it all out, there will never be another springtime . . . Review ?Oodles of dry wit, imagination and shrewdly observed characters.?-Independent on Sunday"Pratchett's one-liners, the comic dialogue of the Feegles, the satire about teenagers and the credulousness of the ordinary folk make for a characteristically entertaining mix."--Nicolette Jones,Sunday Times"Exuberant energy and humour."--Children's Bookseller Book Description The third tale in a gloriously inventive fantasy sequence of tales about Tiffany Aching - young witch - and the Nac Mac Feegle - the Wee Free Men. It's unfair, but as Granny Weatherwax says, no one ever said it was going to be. And if Tiffany doesn't work it all out, there will never be another springtime . . . He lives behind a keyboard in Wiltshire and says he 'doesn't want to get a life, because it feels as though he's trying to lead three already'. He was appointed OBE in 1998. He is the author of the phenomenally successful Discworld series. His first Discworld novel for children, THE AMAZING MAURICE AND HIS EDUCATED RODENTS, was awarded the 2001 Carnegie Medal, while the second, THE WEE FREE MEN - the first about Tiffany and the Nac Mac Feegle - has been optioned by Sony Films to be made into a spectacular movie. Two of his Johnny Maxwell tales have been televised by the BBC as TV drama serials. Excerpt. © Reprinted by permission. All rights reserved. It had to be the wintersmith, Tiffany Aching told herself, standing in front of her father in the freezing farmhouse. She could feel it out there. This wasn't normal weather even for midwinter, and this was springtime. It was a challenge. Or perhaps it was just a game.

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
