About the Book

When Sam created a new model window the things that lay ahead were more than he had expected. His new design was one that was said could totally take over the window market. He had created a window that would block the sun's rays from entering in the window and overheating your home. This would save on cooling bills as well as be an advantage to blocking the harmful rays of the sun. The things that were expected were what made him the most nervous. The strange part is, it was the unexpected things that would give him the most trouble. When the windows were ready to present to the public there were things that came into Sam's life that he hadn't expected. Sam was going to a trade show of the American Window Manufacturers that would present their new product to the industry. When it won the award of 'best new product' the attention was unstoppable. He meets this beautiful woman who can make his projects as well as his personal life totally different than he had first expected. Her house was one that had been built in the 19th century and the things that happened there led to this house being deserted in 1930. When Sam saw this house he instantly saw it as a perfect house to use as a display model for the new window that he had created. When he started promoting the window he found things that were connected to this window that would make it necessary to resolve these issues before they progressed with their project. The reason this house was deserted was something that had been kept as a guarded family secret. When Jasmine bought this house and remodeled it she could see this being the home of her dreams. What she realized was that the presence in this home was one that was connected to the history of this house. While Sam was promoting their new product they meet a man with a connection to this house and it's past. He is very standoffish at first but quickly realizes that his connection to this is what it will take to find the solution. After they found out that the information that they were seeking truly existed this gave them more incentive to pursue the answer to the question that had been left unresolved for many years. When they find the solution for the things that have appeared from the past it makes their outlook for the future a much brighter look than they had experienced when they first got together.
About the Author: Darwin H. Hayes was born in Missouri in 1964 and lived there all of his life except for one year. From November 1982 to September 1983 he lived in Oklahoma and Kansas working on a construction job. He started writing when he was 13 years old and wrote poetry for almost thirty years. Five of his poems were made into songs and recorded on albums. He was interviewed by reporters and stories were written in newspapers about his writing. One reporter ask him if he would ever write anything different than the poetry that he had written for so many years. His response was "No, poetry is the only type of writing that I will ever do." This was a thought that was correct for about ten years after it was said. After he had brain surgery that was done for the seizures that he had from birth, there was a change in his way of seeing things to write about. After he had taken a trip to the South-Western United States he was inspired to write in a different style than had been known to him before that time. The result of that inspiration was something that was unexpected and turned out to be a story that would be published and made into a book to be presented to the public. This book was the beginning of his writing style that has became a habit for him to follow. It has been said that he has a twist in his descriptive ways of writing and that is something that he did not change when he started writing in a different style.
