Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Didaktik - Deutsch - Literatur, Werke, Note: 1,3, Universität Konstanz, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Das Gedicht "Willkommen und Abschied" wird nicht nur als eines der berühmtesten Gedichte von Johann Wolfgang von Goethe angesehen, sondern "als eines der bekanntesten Gedichte der deutschen Literatur überhaupt". Dabei ist vielen Lesern nicht bekannt, dass dieses Gedicht von Goethe mehrmals überarbeitet wurde. Während Volker Neuhaus in seinem Werk "Andre verschlafen ihren Rausch, meiner steht auf dem Papiere" zwar anmerkt, dass Goethes "leichte Änderungen durchweg Verbesserungen sind", bleibt die Frage nach dem Grund der Umänderungen offen. Das Gedicht wird in seiner endgültigen Fassung als Beginn der Erlebnislyrik angesehen und innerhalb der Sesenheimer Lieder als Inbegriff des Liebesgedichts. Der Germanist Benno von Wiese bezeichnet das Gedicht sogar als eine "Ballade des Herzens und ihrer Schicksale" Nicht selten werden dabei die Sesenheimer Lieder, welche zu Goethes Zeit in Straßburg entstanden sind, auch autobiographisch interpretiert. Goethes damaliges Liebesverhältnis zur Sesenheimer Pfarrerstochter Friederike Brion legen diese Vermutung nahe. Auch die Tatsache, dass das im Gedicht behandelte Treffen in Goethes Autobiographie "Aus meinem Leben. Dichtung und Wahrheit" geschildert wird, stützen die biographische Interpretation. Die Änderung der Überschrift, welche im Jahr 1789 "Willkomm und Abschied" lautet und rund zwanzig Jahre später zu "Willkommen und Abschied" umgeändert wird, erscheint auf den ersten Blick unbedeutend. Bei näherer Betrachtung wird jedoch deutlich, dass es sich bei der zuerst gewählten Überschrift um einen feststehenden und geläufigen juristischen Begriff handelt, welcher zu Zeiten Goethes auch in der Alltagssprache fest verankert war. Mit dem Terminus "Willkomm und Abschied" wird nämlich zu jener Zeit eine Zusatzstrafe für Gefängnisinsassen beschrieben. Dies wirft die Frage auf, welche Assozia
