Fakultät, Lehrstuhl für philosophische Grundfragen der Theologie), Veranstaltung: Hauptseminar, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Sinn und Ziel der Seminararbeit: "Das letzte Ziel bewegt den Willen mit Notwendigkeit, da es das vollkommene Gut ist." "Und da das Fehlen eines beliebigen Gutes etwas nicht Gutes ist, ist nur dasjenige Gut, das vollkommen ist und dem nichts fehlt, ein solches Gut, das der Wille nicht nicht wollen kann, und das ist die Glückseligkeit." In seiner Summa Theologica findet Thomas von Aquin in der "Glückseligkeit" nicht nur eine klare Antwort auf die Frage nach dem Sinn und Ziel des Lebens, sondern er behauptet dazu, dass der Mensch sogar "mit Notwendigkeit" von diesem letztem Ziel bewegt wird, da er es "nicht nicht-wollen kann". Auf den ersten Blick könnte es also scheinen, dass der Mensch gar nicht frei, sondern determiniert, d.h. für ein letztes Ziel vorherbestimmt sei. Folglich könnte man fragen: "Ist der Mensch dann noch frei oder nur wie ein Pfeil, der auf die Zielscheibe der Glückseligkeit geschossen wird? Ist er zur Glückseligkeit verdammt?" Sinn und Ziel dieser Seminararbeit soll also eine Antwort auf die Frage sein, ob der menschliche Wille nach Thomas Konzept an sich frei ist und wenn ja, ob er dann absolut frei ist (und selbst ein letztes Ziel wählen kann), oder ob er nur relativ frei ist und lediglich die Art und Weise (die Mittel zum Zweck) wählen kann, wie er das letzte Ziel erreicht. Dazu soll zunächst (Kap. 1) gefragt werden, was Thomas genau unter "Freiheit" bzw.
