70 pages of story and fact! I had to write this book after watching myself, neighbors, and friends experiencing the 2020 wildfires. We were trying to understand how to feel and what to do. How do we explain to kids and comfort them? After the fires were over I researched and talked with librarians. At the time, there were no books like mine available.
Inspired by Real Events Fall of 2020 the Bay Area experienced three major wildfires (a total of 650 wildfires). The SCU, LNU, and the CZU Lightning Complex, collectively burned about 846,000 acres in the first month destroying 2,723 structures, and taking 6 lives.
California is not alone experiencing high increase in wildfires. Additional states include: Oregon, Arizona, Washington, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Texas, Alaska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Florida.
