Jesus is calling us out of our mundane lives into a living Romance, the Love Story to end all love stories. He is gently wooing us, singing love songs to us, and whispering our name.
Whether you are a man or a woman, you are leaving home on a journey into intimacy with Jesus. That journey will take you into spiritual realms through Holy Spirit, and into places beyond your imagination. But there is a catch-you have to drop your preconceived ideas, open your heart, and be ready to fly out on an adventure of a lifetime. The wonderful thing is that no matter what your physical life looks like, you can take this journey and it never has to end. The adventure of this journey goes on and on, flowing in and around your physical life. Your destination is to know Jesus, but oh, what adventures you will experience on your way as you fall deeper in love!
This manual is not about thinking, it is about doing. Thinking and using our head is much easier than getting actively and emotionally involved. While a study guide causes you to think, this Journey Guide will cause you to act. It is much easier to read about a relationship, discuss it, analyze it, think about it, and write about it, but you won't get to know Jesus doing those things. This manual will walk you step-by-step into a living, breathing relationship with Jesus, your Bridegroom Lover.
There is a time for Bible studies, prayer, devotions, and worship, but this journey is to get to know Jesus himself. The Wild Romancer was written to entice people to come and experience this place in relationship, but this manual is about your journey.
Once you have fallen in love with Jesus, once you have looked in His eyes and danced in His arms, you no longer care what others think. Once you have laughed together, shared a personal joke, and caught His eye across the room, you are lost to reason. You walk in a cocoon of His love and protection that nothing can enter. Life becomes just you and Him, even in a crowd.
I have seen Him, held Him, felt Him, eaten with Him, and laughed with Him, but it is never enough. I attempt to share some of it with you so that I can show you what is possible in Him and how He desires you.
About the Author: Growing up as a missionary kid in Thailand, Brenda Cobb Murphy loved God, but it wasn't until 1992 that Jesus wooed her a Bridegroom relationship. Besides writing and sharing with women how they too can know Jesus intimately, she serves alongside her husband Terry in their ministry GINMAY (God Is Not Mad At You). "My goal" she says, "is to flow through life dancing across the waters with Jesus as I touch the world around me with His supernatural love."
