About the Book

This essay sheds light on why traveling is a waste of time and money and also elucidates how to travel for cheap. Moreover, how to make money so that you can afford to finance your traveling lifestyle is delineated in this essay. In spite its perceived merits, traveling is a sheer and utter waste of both time and money. There are a myriad of reasons as to why you should completely abstain from ever pondering the idea of ever traveling outside your local community. First and foremost, conventional traveling is unaffordable and making arrangements can be a calamitous nightmare within itself. When you factor in the cost of an airplane ticket, taxis or Lyfts, eating out at restaurants, hotel rooms, currency conversion fees, and unexpected costs that emerge, you are left with a whole lot of nothing post relinquishing an exorbitant amount of money. In other words, travel is the epitome of a sunk cost in all facets. Traveling to another country even for one week can easily cost well over $10,000. Second, conventional traveling is not only fraught with dire issues, but is also an eminently uncomfortable experience devoid of all the amenities and luxuries you have access to at home which most people take for granted. In other words, if getting absolutely no sleep in order to arrive at the airport on time and if hauling around heavy luggage was not already bad enough, you still have to deal with "jet lag, airport delays", foreign languages, cramped seating, missing baggage, making countless traveling arrangements, eating tasteless foods, "flea bites, sore feet, sun burn, sweltering, long lines, viruses, bed bugs, poor bathrooms" and many other calamitous issues. It truly culminates in a unwarranted experience that one can only whinge about for years to come. Third, conventional traveling cannot only be exhausting and an unmerited pursuit, but can also be veritably frustrating, especially when a foreign language barrier preempts you from being able to communicate even semi-effective throughout the entirety of the traveling experience. In other words, it not only adds complications to all aspects of the traveling experience, but renders it a calamitous predicament to simply complete simple tasks, such as ordering a meal, asking someone a question, or articulating to your taxi driver the destination you want to visit. The language difference between cultural groups renders traveling even more of an eminently stressful, overwhelming, unpleasant, frustrating, and egregiously terrible experience. When you travel, you may find yourself profusely repeating yourself over and over again and having to constantly reword your questions with the earnest hope that the foreign listener has a modicum of understanding of what you are asking, such as repeatably asking a foreigner waiter in different ways if their menu has any vegan options. Fourth, conventional traveling can be a dreary, drab, and depressing experience. This is because, during your traveling experience, you will not only be completely away from your friends and family members, but will also be ushered into a new foreign environment in which you cannot even understand a single word uttered or written in the foreign language of the visited country. Moreover, you will not only be bereft of indulging in experiencing any of the accouterments of the high life while traveling due to having accessibility to scant resources, but will also concede to paying an enormous premium price and lofty markup for every little item purchased. What further exacerbate the matter is that you will not be familiar with the retailers abroad and will likely even pay substantially higher premium prices than you otherwise would if you understood the country's native language and could better research prices in advance. Being surrounded by a cacophony of a foreign language blaring that you completely do not understand and cultural groups you do not know within the confines of a foreign environment devoid of friends.
