About the Book
"Why Bother? Because Self-Help Is Never Stupid," was written to encourage you to find a deeper knowing, awareness and appreciation for why it is important to bother. We live in a mad, pissed-off world, and we all want ways to step beyond just coping and into moments of peace, joy and contentment. Anger, frustration, stress and more are triggered by the ego's reaction to something that occurred in the past, and holds us hostage from living a more ideal future. Pain, abuse and suffering cannot be transformed by trivializing or denying its existence. Heart-centered consciousness, while becoming main-stream, is often misunderstood, or perceived as being weird yet offers a profound way to bring kindness, gentleness and compassion to everything. It is through integrating the heart with all parts of self that brings truth, light and beauty to the darkness that resides within all of us, thereby allowing all parts and all voices of self to harmonize. Hence a big "why bother" of this book. Living through heart-centered conscious knowing and integrity provides a sense of strength, courage, support and comfort while facing the sometimes uncomfortable truth of reality. This book acknowledges that solving problems is not always as simple as "just sending love," as many New-Age philosophies will teach. It runs a gamut of topics, including creation, miscreation, co-creation, ego, how to embrace and accept all aspects of self and others, forgiveness, abuse, dysfunction, meditation and exercises to process fear and anger but with an element of lightness and humor that isn't always common in self-help. Why such a wide range? Because: our life experiences span a wide spectrum which is deeper than just accepting the good with the bad. The author uses her own fondness for rock music, referring to over 80 songs, knowing that music offers a healing resonance, and lyrics give voice to those who have not yet found theirs, adding an uplifting element to our tumultuous lives, inviting you to find the music, harmony and vibration of your soul.
About the Author: Martha Du'Sage has stepped through the looking glass of dysfunction and sexual abuse to discover, what we can all discover, an end to suffering. Through over 20 years of practicing heart-centered conscious knowing, she has hands-on, rather than clinical experience to share, helping others to see things in a new light regarding their abuse, which creates a peace within. With one foothold in the conventional world, Martha spent a great deal of time in business, particularly the insurance industry, but she always knew that she had a different purpose. With greater attraction to the unconventional, attempting to break down worn-out paradigms and belief, she found herself more often saying, "who says it has to be that way?" It was that desire to play in the alternative world that led her to seek knowledge from the mystical, creative realms. Her work is a combination of what she has learned from many teachers of consciousness as well as training in NLP, Deeksha - Oneness Blessing, massage, reflexology, aromatherapy, body wrapping, fitness and nutrition, and more. Besides writing and energy work, Martha creates aromatherapy blends as a compliment to your inner work. While resisting rigid belief she finds what is considered the unconventional world is actually more natural and authentic. It is the love of nature and the natural that drives her to help others put an end to their struggles. Her studies in consciousness and a desire not to adhere to any one system of belief have led her to practice energy work intuitively. She simply guides whoever she is working with, into their own, state of present moment awareness where she encourages you to embrace the full spectrum of you. There was a time when Martha found herself in a profession saying, "this is what I do, not who I am." In order to honor the "I AM" presence that is in all of us, she decided it was time to offer her voice to those that have not yet discovered theirs, due to past trauma and abuse. Hence, the birth of this book - "Why Bother? Because Self-Help is Never Stupid." Currently, she is in the process of developing several workshops, including "The Heart Pillar" which was introduced in this book and "Breaking Lack Consciousness." Contact information can be found at www.marthadusage.com. Various private sessions are available to help you discover the "I AM" in you.
