Whole 30 CookbookWhole 30, as its name suggests, is a 30-day weight loss program that makes people avoid all grains, dairy, soy, alcohol, legumes, sugar, and processed foods.
It was started by the couple Dallas and Melissa Hartwig in 2009. Whole 30 is not a diet which helps the people to lose weight, but is a diet which focuses on improving their eating habits and there by changing the manner people think about the food.
This month-long clean-eating program promises a group of emotional and health benefits. This program aims at resetting our metabolism and redesigning our relationship with food. It can be thought as a short-term nutritional reset, designed to help us stop unhealthy habits and cravings, balance immune system of our body, restore a healthy metabolism, and heal our digestive tract. Tens of thousands of people have taken on Whole 30 diet program
Normally, Whole 30 diet is compared to Paleo Diet, which emphasizes eating only clean foods or nothing that would not have been eaten by early man. Although both the diets cut out similar groups of food, there are some key differences, such as while paleo only prohibits refined sugar whole 30 does not allow added sugar; and paleo recommends only grain-fed or grass-fed meat while Whole 30 makes no such recommendation.
Weight loss is not the intention of this diet. Instead, it focuses on non-scale victories, such as clothing fitting better, acne clearing up, or even observing significant changes in health. Whole 30 can help with depression, chronic fatigue, diabetes, insomnia, infertility, back pain, and more.
