About the Book

(October 22, 2013) Based on personal and professional experiences, Who stole my bike?: And 20 Other Questions Young Professionals Need to Ask Themselves is designed to engage, empower and enlighten people while helping them discover the great potential that lies within. Nothing more, nothing less! This series of questions focuses on life and leadership, birthed from the belief that when approached with logic, many of life's critical issues are tied to a question that follows. Focusing on this fundamental truth, readers will proclaim their rightful place in their lives, their families, their church, and their community. This book will encourage you to embrace the person you are, the people around you, and your potential. These foundational principles are at the core of any relationship we have or decision we will ever make. In all we do, it is essential that we take a vital look at the person we are, the people we surround ourselves with, and our God-given potential. No matter our race, sex, age, background, or religious belief, there comes a time when we each must look within ourselves and develop a personal manifesto to make a difference. Our future can only be predicted if we create it. Ask yourself these questions and change how your story ends.
About the Author: Faithful, focused, and fearless are just three words that describe David McGhee. As a former program director for Big Brothers Big Sisters, a current professor, and founder of 16th Letter Consulting, a nonprofit and leadership development consulting firm, McGhee has built a national reputation as a servant-leader who labors diligently to improve the quality of life for marginalized people. Adept at building key relationships with government, educational, and nonprofit agencies, David has extensive experience in program development and implementation; as well as experience securing local, state, and federal grants. Since adolescence, he has developed hands-on, practical experience working with youth and families. He is a well-respected, highly sought-after speaker who inspires any audience. Born and raised in Flint, Michigan, David relates to various cultures in ways many can't. He is indeed a much-needed change agent for children, youth and families - especially African American boys. His work with youth and communities has been widely recognized throughout the country - recently being featured in the September 2012 issue of Black Enterprise Magazine. David is also a thought-leader, recently contributing to the National Urban League's 2013 State of Black America Report, Redeem the Dream. His essay, Mentoring Matters: Why Young Professionals and Others Must Mentor, was published alongside essays from other contributors including: Marc H. Morial, Attorney General Eric H. Holder, Jr., Congressman John Lewis, Rev. Al Sharpton, and many more. David received his bachelor's degree in public administration & public policy from Oakland University and a master's degree in leadership from Central Michigan University. www.davidmcghee.org
