"There is only one body and one spirit even as ye are called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God, and Father of all, who is above all and through all and in you all" (Ephesians 4:4-6). There is only one true, living God, the God that made heaven and earth. There is only one church, the body of Christ, which is a body of believers in Christ through the gospel. There is one faith, Christianity. "Jesus saith unto him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father but by me" (John 14:6). Jesus is not a way, but the way, he is the door to eternal life. "Neither is there salvation in any other for there is none name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). Jesus Christ is the savior of the world, the redeemer, God in human flesh.
"'Ye are my witness, ' saith the Lord, 'and my servant whom I have chosen that ye may know and believe me and understand that I am he. Before me, there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord, and beside me there is no savior. I have declared and have saved, and I have shown when there was no strange god among you. Therefore, ye are my witnesses, ' saith the Lord, 'that I am God'" (Isaiah 43:10-12). "'Thus, ' saith the Lord, the king of Israel, and his redeemer the Lord of hosts, 'I am the first, and I am the last, and beside me there is no God'" (Isaiah 44:6).
The true and living God must be able to redeem his follower from sin or he's not God because there is nothing too hard for God. For God to forgive your sin, something or someone must die in your place and atone for your sin by his blood. "Because without the shedding of blood is no forgiveness of sin" (Hebrews 9:22). Once you believe the gospel of Jesus Christ, the blood of Jesus cleanses your sin, then God forgives your sin. God cannot forgive your sins until it is cleansed by the blood of Jesus. "'I am alpha and omega, the beginning and the end, ' saith the Lord, 'which is and which was and which is to come.'" The Almighty Jesus Christ is saying that he is Almighty God in the flesh, our redeemer. No one can forgive and redeem you from your sin but God Almighty. You cannot work off sin, it must be redeemed, and the redeemer must be sinless because a sinner cannot redeem another sinner.
