About the Book

Visit www.caliisme.com for more info and products. Book Description: Majestic Queen Calafía of California, created in 1510, during the height of Slavery, is the most invisible legendary American female superhero but is the first American superhero and is currently unknown and unpopular. She is the ruler of a paradise Terrestrial Island called "California" invented in a Spanish novel out of the Medieval Renaissance era and consequently, the namesake of the State of California. Remarkably, the Queen of California is a blend of Black Panther and Wonder Woman. This book re-introduces Queen Calafía in a unique way interweaving fact and fiction to relay the historical origins of Wonder Woman in the name of mystical California, and its mysterious, unknown seal (concepts not disclosed in even Jill Lepore's historical analysis of Wonder Woman). This book targets youth in a fun way who struggle during the important childhood development growth stages arising from social identity and psychological image issues, resonating from mistreatment in society regarding acceptance of complexion and skin tones (aka racism). Analytical, interactive exercises develop critical thinking skills concerning the State of California heritage, highlighting elements of respect, and how to use one's imagination and work within the legal system as a citizen of the U.S.A. Ms. Dicus discovered the history of the California state seal was "whitewashed". Her book sheds light on how a Confederate general "whitewashed" the seal to remove the fact that the real legendary inspiration of the seal was a Black woman-the real Wonder Woman of DC Comics, and not the white woman currently depicted on California's state seal. "If we don't love our own history, we will be history." - Ms. Tamra L. Dicus."Learning history can open our eyes to the truth. There's so much that we assume that upon closer examination turns out to be false or misleading. Ms. Discus's uncovering of the real history of the California state seal is a breathtaking example of how one person can advance our understanding of our past and present and lead us into a more enlightened future." -Thomas Jefferson School of Law Professor Steve Semeraro"Words matter. Symbols matter. It is time to declare "times up" for the invisible ways in which communities of color have been diminished. As Ralph Ellison said in "Invisible Man": "when I discover who I am, I'll be free."-Thomas Jefferson School of Law Professor Kevin "K.J." Greene
About the Author: Tamra L. Dicus was born in Kansas City, Missouri, is an alumna of Tuskegee University, spent her adult life in Alexandria, Virginia working for the USPTO and currently attends Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego, California. Her experiences as a chemical engineer and patent examiner have mystically lead her to discover several facts of life upon her journey. She is founder and owner of CALIFORNIA IS ME(TM), established upon discovering her likeness in the state name and concentrates on creating self-esteem in underrepresented youth with a focus on black women and a critical focus in STEM subject matter. Other upcoming projects: a book based on her mysterious collection of facts on her journey that lead her to discovery of Queen Calafía's California. Ms. Dicus chose to celebrate her unknown "new black history" by creating empowering CALIFORINA IS ME EST. 1510(TM) fashionable clothing line. WARNING: Upon wearing the CALIFORNIA IS ME(TM) gear, you will become enlightened, powerful, and intelligent. Slay barriers! I FOUND HER! EUREKA!
