About the Book

This book was written for my many fans requesting a sequel to the psychological thriller, Bottomless. Bottomless is a story where fan-favorite characters Detective Logan Emery and Detective Krystal Strong solve one of the most heinous serial killings in New England's history. In the process, they dealt with significant trust issues between them and shared unpleasant personal family matters from the past. While unraveling the gruesome case, they regained their love for each other. Now engaged to be married and living together, they work for separate police departments. Logan became the Commander of the Meriden Detective's Division. At the same time, Krystal hired on as a new detective for the nearby Cheshire Police Department. When a young girl, most summers Krystal Strong stayed at her grandfather's home in upstate New York. Her mother thought it the safest place for Krystal because of her father's physical abuse. Father didn't like the fact that she most often enjoyed playing with boys and their toys instead of acting a princess, like younger sister Bonnie. He considered it unnatural and often took his angst out on Krystal. While visiting with her grandfather, the gentle and affectionate man read Krystal his favorite Zane Grey western novels. Stories with brave heroines enduring times when white settlers were warring with the Native American nations. She saw herself one day being a heroine like the female characters in the stories. On a subconscious level, it was a reason that Krystal joined the police academy and eventually trained and became a police detective. Krystal's past abuse, along with the western stories of families being poorly treated by male characters, left long-standing issues with Krystal. It caused her to internalize generalizations that most men are cowards, cheaters, and bad guys. Krystal's past, along with her struggles from almost dying when solving the last serial murder case catch up to her. It causes her to become vulnerable to evil outside influences when trying to solve her first case with the Cheshire Police Department.Krystal and new partner, Lenny Pinella, are assigned to solve a most gruesome crime scene. Afterward, Krystal begins hearing strange noises and having isolated hallucinations. The FBI suddenly becomes involved. Mysteriously, they take away their witness and evidence. Like a dog with a bone, Krystal keeps investigating. After a strange paranormal experience, she thinks that she's going crazy. She seeks out a local mystic and fortune-teller to learn what is causing her problem.Meanwhile, FBI Agent May Amber is being chased by her own agency. What she finds while on the lam helps the FBI regain its public credibility and image. The evidence also sheds light on Krystal's weird experiences. This is a fast action, diabolical crime story involving local detectives, the FBI, and Russian moles trying to undermine our systems of law enforcement. It will show how and why Krystal and her new sidekick get sucked into a new national crisis involving the apparent welcoming of Russian interference into all levels of our democratic systems.Throughout the entire story, you will be hanging onto the edge of your seat. Try hard not to fall off! Happy reading.
