Dieses Zitat fasst die Freundschaftskonzeption von Aristoteles zusammen und führt zumThema der vorliegenden Hausarbeit. Aristoteles sieht in der Freundschaft den einen Weg, um zur Glückseligkeit zu gelangen, deswegen beschäftigt er sich sehr ausführlich mit dem Thema. Das Thema der Freundschaft erstreckt sich über die zwei Bücher VIII und IX, und umfasst damit die längste Einzelabhandlung der "Nikomachischen Ethik". Zuerst wird das Wesen der Freundschaft nach Aristoteles definiert und aufgezeigt, welche Vorstellungen Aristoteles von Freundschaft hatte. Aristoteles empfindet die Freundschaft als Tugend der Gemeinschaft und er entwickelt die Frage, warum ein gesellschaftliches Leben auf Freundschaft begründet ist. Im weiteren Verlauf werden die drei Arten der Freundschaft nach Aristoteles genauer untersucht: die Freundschaft des Nutzens Willens, die Freundschaft um der Lust willen und die Freundschaft der Guten. Im dritten Kapitel wird der Freund als zweites Ich betrachtet. Hier findet Beachtung, welchen Wert Aristoteles dem Dasein des Freundes zurechnet; Er kommt zu den Fragen: Liebt man eher sich selbst oder eine andere Person? Und braucht der gute Mensch überhaupt Freunde? Den letzten Gliederungspunkt bildet ein Vergleich der heutigen Freundschaftskonzeption des 21.Jahrhunderts mit der von Aristoteles, um mögliche Unterschiede herauszuarbeiten. Für Aristoteles war die Freundschaftskonzeption ein lebenspraktischer Gesamtentwurf. Deshalb wird unterschieden zwischen dem heutigen Freundschaft
