About the Book

When Molly is paroled after being falsely convicted of murdering her husband, she beseeches her friend, investigative reporter Fran Simmons, to do an expose on her case and flush out the real killer. Bookswagon.com Review We'll Meet Again is filled with the ingredients that Mary Higgins Clark devotees will devour: fast-paced suspense, double-crossing villains, romantic intrigue, and a resounding showdown at the end. Harder to swallow is the excessive use of theatricals whenever the author describes a satanic like HMO, and its legion of evil doctors. The darkest knight of all is Peter Black, whose eyes "were cold, angry, menacing--certainly not the eyes of a healer." Still, melodrama aside, Higgins Clark still knows how to spin a good yarn. Her heroine in We'll Meet Again is an investigative reporter named Fran Simmons, who is not unlike the bright, resourceful Dr. Susan Chandler in You Belong to Me. Fran has just been hired to work on a popular new TV show called True Crime. Coincidentally, her very first assignment involves an ex-pupil from her old high school, the posh Cranden Academy in Greenwich, Connecticut. Molly Lasch had been incarcerated in her mid-20s, accused of pulverizing her husband's head with a Remington bronze sculpture. The murder of this community doctor, and chief executive officer of a local HMO, stunned Greenwich. For half a decade Molly claimed to have no memory of the event, but now out on parole, slivers of memory trickle back--and Molly informs the press that someone else was in the house at the time of her husband's murder. Few people believe her--even less so when a key witness from the original trial is stabbed to death and evidence links Molly to the scene of the crime. It's up to the ever vigilant Fran to investigate what the police won't--and she unearths some very dark and extremely dirty secrets that will further shock the quiet community. --Naomi Gesinger From Booklist In best-selling Clark's typical fashion, this novel is populated by beautiful, powerful, wealthy people, all of whom have skeletons in their well-filled closets. Molly Carpenter Lasch, a gorgeous socialite married to a handsome doctor and living in affluent Greenwich, Connecticut, finds out her "perfect" husband is having an affair with a nurse. Shortly after, he is brutally murdered, and Molly is discovered asleep in their bed, covered with his blood and unable to remember what happened. The story picks up five years later, when Molly is out of jail on parole. Determined to get her memory back and figure out what really happened that night, she meets with the "other woman" --who is then found murdered in her car. Although Clark spends a lot more time on the superficial than the psychological (we hear plenty about Molly's looks but almost nothing about her jail time), she is a master of suspense and an excellent storyteller. First-rate entertainment.Jenny McLarin Review Arvada Community News (Denver) This is Mary Higgins Clark at her finest and her millions of fans will love it. --ReviewBooklistClark is a master of suspense and an excellent storyteller. We'll Meet Again is first-rate entertainment.

The Daily Sun (Perry, GA)Mary Higgins Clark is one of those rare novelists whose books get better with each passing year. She is already one of the most beloved mystery writers of our generation and as such could coast along turning out pale imitations of her past hits. But not our Mary; she has to keep being more inventive and more entertaining with each new story she creates. Her latest isWe'll Meet Again and it is one of her best....Find a comfortable chair and dive in. You owe yourself this pleasure.

A Thrilling But Totally Believable Murder Mystery

Read this in one evening. I had planned to do other things with my day, but it was impossible to put down. Every time I tried, I was drawn back to it in less than 5 minutes. I sobbed my eyes out the entire last 100 pages. Highly recommend!
