The book's creator, C.A. Cali, enjoyed sharing stories of these New York historic homes with visitors of the Hallockville Homestead while giving tours of the Hallock Home, where many generations of the Hallock family lived. An American Homestead from 1765, passed down through the generations to the last Hallock family occupant in 1979; though parts of the house are known to have been in existence since the 1600s.
