In einer Schulklasse besteht die schwierigste pädagogische Aufgabe darin, die Disziplin herzustellen und dann auch aufrecht zu erhalten. Daher erfordert das Disziplinmanagement ein professionelles pädagogisches Handeln und bedient sich Hilfen, wie dem des "Trainingsraum-Konzeptes" als Time-Out Instrument für den Unterricht. Stefan Balke als deutscher Ziehvater des Trainingsraum-Konzeptes hat den Einsatz mit seiner Adaption des aus den USA entwickelten Programms Responsible Thinking Process von Ford seit 1996 an den Schulen in Deutschland ermöglicht. In Deutschland hat sich mittlerweile auch die Trainingsraum-Methode von Simon und Bründel konzipiert als ein auf dem Ansatz basiertem Programm etabliert. Doch wie wirksam ist das Trainingsraum-Konzept? Bislang sind so gut wie keine praxisorientierten Evaluationen und wissenschaftlichen Studien vorhanden. Die marginal existenten Studien ziehen vorwiegend ein positives Fazit und sehen eine klare Besserung im Klassenklima und auch bei den im Trainingsraum gewesenen Schülerinnen und Schülern. Dennoch ist das Konzept des Trainingsraum-Programmes gegenwärtig unter Erziehungswissenschaftlern kontrovers diskutiert und wird aber oftmals nicht mit Klassenmanagementprogrammen verglichen. Die vorliegende Arbeit mit dem Titel "Welche Erziehungsabsicht verbirgt sich hinter dem Konzept des Trainingsraum-Programmes?" soll insbesondere die Leser und die Interessenten dafür sensibilisieren, sich mit dem Thema "Trainingsraum-Programm" zu beschäftigen und gleichzeitig zu hinterfragen, ob die Methode hinsichtlich der erzieherischen Absicht, die in dieser Arbeit herausgearbeitet werden soll, sinnvoll für die Anwendung in der Schule ist.
