In dieser Dissertation wird ein System zur Erfassung von Terahertz-Pulsen für die zeitaufgelöste Terahertz-Spektroskopie beschrieben. Das System beruht auf dem Prinzip des Asynchronen Optischen Samplings (ASOPS). Die analytische Beschreibung des ASOPS-Schemas und die Herleitung zulässiger Fehlergrenzen bilden einen wesentlichen Teil dieser Dissertation. Basierend auf den daraus gewonnenen Erkenntnissen wurde das System gegenüber herkömmlichen ASOPS-Systemen verbessert. Das Hauptaugenmerk liegt dabei auf der Erzeugung eines Triggersignals, welches keinen relevanten Timing-Jitter in Bezug auf die Folge von THz-Pulsformen aufweist. Dies ist mit der Kreuzkorrelation von Pump- und Abtast-Pulsen in einem nichtlinearen Kristall gelungen. Das verbesserte System wurde dazu genutzt, um verschiedene Gase im Terahertz-Frequenzbereich zu untersuchen. Ziel dabei war, die Molecular Response Theory durch Messungen zu überprüfen. In diesem Rahmen wurden unter anderem die drei Halogenalkane Methylchlorid, Methylbromid und Methyliodid sowie Trifluormethan bei hohen Drücken im Terahertz-Strahlengang vermessen. Als Ergebnis wurden die molekularen Reaktionszeiten der vermessenen Molekülsorten ermittelt. Die Daten belegen einen linearen Zusammenhang zwischen der Reaktionszeit und dem Trägheitsmoment der Moleküle. Die erzeugten Daten sind mit den Aussagen und bisherigen Ergebnissen der Molecular Response Theory konform. Die Auswertung aller bisher ermittelten Reaktionszeiten zeigt darüber hinaus, dass die Grenze für die Messgenauigkeit hier durch die Energie-Zeit-Unschärfe vorgegeben ist. Darüber hinaus werden mit dieser Dissertation erstmals die Absorptions- und Dispersionsspektren im Terahertz-Bereich für gasförmiges Methyliodid und Trifluormethan im vibronischen Grundzustand veröffentlicht.
