About the Book

A romance-thriller at its finest hour, novelist Carl Kyler continues down a bold path in The Way to Freedom: Part 3, his third book in a series that conjures the philosophy and writings of Ayn Rand. With a dry wit, unforgettable characters, and a nice tempo of intrigue, suspense, and action, Kyler depicts a staggering scenario of what could happen after a major financial cataclysm involving the bankruptcy of the world's most powerful countries and the destruction of the main currencies of the world. With a spellbinding climax of geopolitical drama, Kyler offers readers all the passion and adventure of a romantic-thriller as he develops a new vision for political and monetary systems in the twenty-first century. What could happen once the very real prospect of government bankruptcy across the Western world comes to fruition? Would Western governments accept to compensate bond owners after History's biggest bankruptcy, or could they be compelled to do so? Could a community of smaller countries adopting a society with minimal taxes, gold as money and full defense of private property flourish alongside a humiliated but die-hard global welfare-state, where the United States, Japan and most of Western Europe strive to emerge from the ashes and re-establish a global paper money and a common, high-tax fiscal union? Gold countries are pressured to join this new union but many of them refuse to do so. They instead establish a new constitution with a minimal government having one single mandate: to defend individual rights. Accused of social and fiscal dumping and being cut off from trading with the West, the new Freedom Community countries strengthen their bonds with the Eastern powers. The frontier of action moves to China, where the one-party regime starts to tremble from the public discontent aroused by dwindling global trade and by the continued absence of reforms toward political freedom. Mark Lomack and his Free Men, Real Money network build on the success of their Freedom Community and advises China to introduce free-market solutions for welfare services. In so doing, will they contribute to the survival of totalitarian governments or spark a much larger freedom revolution? The Way to Freedom Part 3, Money and Justice, is an adventure within an adventure. The international saga continues and as the world financial crisis bottoms out, the next frontier of struggle is political: should the world be rebuilt by ever-bigger welfare states, or through a system of minimal governments refraining from all interference in the economy?
About the Author: Carl Kyler is a novelist with degrees in engineering and in economics. A keen observer of modern society and its challenges, he writes using insights from classical and Austrian schools of economics, Ayn Rand's philosophy of Objectivism, and a critical analysis of the twentieth-century "Welfare State." On this foundation, his writing aims to bring to life heroic and romantic characters and to depict a world freed of tough problems that have plagued the last century. A Swedish national, he currently lives with his wife and daughter in France, where he works in an executive position in the automotive industry. He is the author of The Way to Freedom series.
