About the Book

It's a great biblical accuracy test of faith about the history of the galaxy, ancient history, and the present call to religion. It also tests agnosticism and atheism. WATER BEARING FISH is the book you want to have in the laboratory where your faith is tested and your religious views are formed. In this theatricalized memoir, Steefen stands before the Rosetta Stone assessing the history that poured out of this rock after Egyptian hieroglyphs were deciphered. Biblical history that has supported his faith has now become more accurate. Frank is fascinated with The Age of Reason by Thomas Paine. He challenges Steefen to read Paine's analysis of the Bible but Steefen has already taken Freud's challenge to know the testimony of Egypt. Steefen synthesizes into his worldview Paine's criticism and inspiration. He fights to free himself from agnosticism, pessimism, and resistance to have his behavior align with the new knowledge and understanding he has acquired. This journey to maturity takes us to dynasties of Egypt, its ancient literature, the lives of Moses, David, and Jesus, Paris 1795, the Met Museum, the New York Public Research Library, the British Museum, and beyond. * Advisory: This passion contains a few expletives and adult situations. * The author has made available an alternative, an abridged work for all audiences and purposes: "Insights on the Exodus, King David, and Jesus."
About the Author: Steefen, the author, born April 25th, was raised in a Protestant family and was educated grades 7-12 in Catholic middle and high schools. Before he graduated from Baruch College in Finance and Investments, he gained admittance to New York University's Gallatin Division where he was a student in F.E. Peters' class, "Children of Abraham: Judaism, Christianity, and Islam" (based on Peters' book of the same name). He was a college evening newspaper editor at Baruch and helped high school students as a Lincoln-Douglas debate and student congress judge. He took composition, acting, theatrical production, personal essay and playwriting classes at Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, LA, NYU and NYU School of Continuing and Professional Studies. He completed the Leadership and Communication program and advanced assignments in Toastmasters International. He is a member of the Dramatists Guild. His memberships include: American Research Center in Egypt, Society of Biblical Literature, National Geocosmic Research, and the Dramatists Guild with associate memberships with Westar (Jesus Seminar) and PEN. He served in volunteer choirs at Marble Collegiate Church and St. Bartholomew's Church in New York. With the Marble Collegiate Church choirs, he sang at the Beacon Theater, Madison Square Garden, Avery Fisher Hall, the New Jersey Performing Arts Center, Town Hall, Carnegie Hall, and the Fox, ABC, and NBC studios. In the 2007 Martin Luther King, Jr. services at Riverside Church, NY, he sang the tenor solo line in "Let Justice Roll" (words of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. set to the inspiring music of Mark A. Miller) narrated by Rev. Dr. James A. Forbes, and in prior performances by Rev. Suzan Johnson Cook and James Earl Jones. He spent a very short and rewarding time singing in Italian with the New York Opera Forum. As a faith futurist, his interest is in finding which places of worship have sacred scripture study classes that accurately reflect ancient history, particularly the post-Rosetta Stone view of biblical history. His subject matter is the quality of global education and global travel pertaining to the religions of Abraham. He is grateful for the lay instructors, priests, nuns, and brothers of his middle and high schools and for the beauty of The Collegiate Church of the Holy and Undivided Trinity, Church of England, Stratford-upon-Avon, the reported place of William Shakespeare's baptism April 26th and the reported place of his burial April 25th.
