Studienarbeit aus dem Jahr 2013 im Fachbereich Soziologie - Individuum, Gruppe, Gesellschaft, Note: 2,3, Universität Koblenz-Landau, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Warum ist der Begriff der Freundschaft in sozialen Netzwerken, insbesondere bei Facebook, nicht mit dem Begriff der Freundschaft gleichzusetzen, so wie er in soziologischen Texten definiert wird? Mit dieser Frage setzt sich die vorliegende Hausarbeit auseinander. Zuerst werden einige Definitionen und Beschreibungen des Freundschaftsbegriffes aus der soziologischen Grundlagenliteratur diskutiert. Diese erste Beleuchtung soll einen Überblick darüber geben, ab wann eine Beziehung zwischen zwei Menschen aus soziologischer Sicht als Freundschaft bezeichnet werden kann, oder ob in anderen Fällen lediglich von Bekanntschaften gesprochen werden kann. Es soll differenziert werden, ob es verschiedene Arten von Freundschaften gibt und in welchen Aspekten sie sich gleichen oder unterscheiden. Anschließend wird im zweiten Themenbereich herausgearbeitet, welche Bedeutung sogenannte Freundschaften in sozialen Netzwerken haben. Besondere Beachtung findet hier das soziale Netzwerk Facebook, in dem es mittlerweile normal ist, dass der Durchschnittsnutzer Personen im dreistelligen Bereich per Mausklick zu seinen Freunden erklärt, ohne außerhalb der virtuellen Welt Kontakt zu ihnen zu pflegen. Der Löwenanteil dieser virtuellen Freunde trägt also lediglich zur Selbstdarstellung der betreffenden Person bei und soll ihre soziale Eingebundenheit in die Gesellschaft bezeugen. Die Bezeichnung "Freundesliste" ist in sozialen Netzwerken also eine Umschreibung der sich ebenfalls in diesem Netzwerk befindenden Kontakte oder einfach Mitmenschen, aber keinesfalls handelt es sich bei jedem virtuellen auch um einen realen Freund. Zusammenfassend lässt sich sagen, dass reale Freundschaften nicht existieren können, wenn sie vernachlässigt werden, und dieser Umstand hat zur Fragestellung dieser Arbeit geführt.
