About the Book
Michael is really excited about this book, and hopes it really touches and encourages your heart, helping you in your daily journey to "walk as Jesus did." In this book it teaches the basic fundamentals of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, repenting, reconciliation, baptism, prayer, the power of the blood, etc. It starts out with Peter on the Day of Pentecost, using the only thing available to them, scriptures from the Old Testament. The last chapter it ends with a message and call for the church to repent in America. That is the final climax of the last chapter, "A Time to Repent," just like it is written about in 2 Chronicles 7:14. The book is a spiritual joy ride and a physical gut check for the believer, spiritually equipping the believer for sharing the gospel. "Walking as Jesus Did" is a two part book, a study outline, and a study guide. An audio book version is also available if you don't like reading. The audio version of "The Day of Pentecost" is awesome with sound effects in the background. Michael compels each and every one of us to a higher calling, "Walking as Jesus Did." Excerpt: Constantly reading and studying is the only way to know God and stand firm when temptation comes your way. The Rock is the anchor in a person's life. The word is the rope that ties you to the rock. And the rock is Jesus Christ. The more word, the more rope, the more rope, the deeper the water, and with more rope, the harder it is for the wind and waves to move your boat. With a short rope, you will look up and suddenly you notice that your boat is drifting. You are no longer anchored with the Rock. If you have ever been in a boat that drops anchor, you will notice the design of the anchor has two hooks on it. The purpose is so that the hooks will dig into the mud and hold the boat. If you only let out enough rope for the anchor to touch bottom, the anchor has no way of digging into the mud, and the result is the boat drifts even thou you drop anchor. Excerpt 2: The fall of mankind is what most often is called the introduction of sin into the world. Sin broke this intimate relationship of walking and talking with God Himself. Adam literally walked and talked with God in the Garden of Eden. "The Passion of the Christ" portrays the climax of God reestablishing a personal relationship with man, thus, removing the barrier of sin and death. Jesus Christ spoke these words, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 (NIV). Why would Jesus make such a bold statement? Our feeble minds would tremble at making such a boast. Yet, there are false prophets that make that same claim. Can there be anyone other than Jesus Christ? Reason might say, no. But, there are men that seem to try and say, "Yes, there is another way." Look at the many religions and beliefs in this world. Let us focus on the claim of Jesus Christ, "I am the way and the truth and the life." An extremely bold statement! Is there any foundational truth to this claim? The pathway leads back to the very beginning of the commission to Adam. As Jesus so states, "I am the Son of Man." Why would this title be used over and over throughout scripture? Mysterious! Here are some of the verses, Matt. 9:6, 10:25, Mark 10:33, 13:26, Luke 6:22. Say you have a son and then decide to give your son a car for his birthday. Six months goes by and you see your son driving an old beat up car. You ask your son, "Where is the car I gave you?" Junior looks toward the ground and mumbles, "I lost it gambling." "That was a gift that I gave you," the father yells. The father storms off and says, "I will go and take it from that person and give it back to you again." Is it possible to give the same gift to a person that squandered that gift the first time? Rationale would say absolutely not. Give the same gift twice, not happening. Redemption of man is not possible by man.
About the Author: Michael Vandeburg grew up on a farm just outside of Fort Worth, Texas, or as the locals call it, Cowtown. He loves to hunt and fish. Growing up in the country and watching his parents work hard to maintain the farm has greatly taught Michael that hard work is very good for the soul. Even now his father still cuts and bails hay in his seventies. Michael has been a contract engineer for over 20 years in the Aerospace, and Truck industries. He is an author / speaker / revivalist, who loves writing to encourage people. Michael's greatest work, and what he wants written on his grave stone one day is, "Author of the Declaration of Independence 2." You can read it on his website ReviveAmericaCampaign.com. Michael has written some very controversial books about taxation rights. Here is one of his controversial reads, "Social Security: The New American Slave." Michael has no problem telling the truth, the real problem is no one wants to hear it. The truth convicts, the truth forces you to repent, or continue walking outside of God's will. He is also adding some children's short stories that he hopes will be real encouraging and inspirational to children. You might really be surprised to hear how gifted he is at writing songs. They are streaming at his website. His demo song, "Made in the Good Ol' USA" hit top 40 in Italy, which was a real shock for him. Michael wishes one day that our radio stations in America would be more open to Indie songs, like in Europe, not such a monopoly of our airwaves.
