Bachelorarbeit aus dem Jahr 2019 im Fachbereich Geschichte Europas - Mittelalter, Frühe Neuzeit, Note: 15/20, Université du Luxembourg, Sprache: Deutsch, Abstract: Diese Bachelorarbeit setzt sich mit Pilgerberichten auseinander und konzentriert sich hauptsächlich auf den gelebten Alltag der Reisenden im Kontext eines besonderen Transportmittels: den Pilgerschiffen. Im Mittelalter gab es diverse Methoden, um eine Pilgerreise zu bewältigen. Die einfachste und kostengünstigste war es, zu Fuß zu gehen. Für einige weit entfernte Pilgerziele wie Jerusalem musste ein großer Teil der Reise allerdings auf dem Schiff gemeistert werden. Diese Arbeit soll die Lebensbedingungen und Erfahrung der Reisenden an Bord solcher Pilgerschiffe beschreiben. Dazu werden einige Reiseberichte von bekannten Pilgern aus dem Mittelalter analysiert. Die Reiseberichte von Hans Tucher (1428-1491), Bernhard von Breydenbach (1440-1497), Felix Fabri (1441-1502), Konrad Grünemberg (1442-1494), Arnold von Harff (1471-1505) und eines wohl aus Bayern stammenden unbekannten Niederadligen werden in dieser Arbeit eine zentrale Rolle spielen. Diese Bachelorarbeit setzt sich mit diesen sechs Pilgern auseinander, da sie alle im 15. Jahrhundert geboren sind und somit alle mehr oder weniger zur gleichen Zeit gereist sind. Ebenso kommen diese sechs Pilgern aus unterschiedlichen sozialen Stämmen. Unter diesen sechs befinden sich Niederadlige, ein Kaufmann, ein Mönch und Ritter. Die meisten der erhaltenen Reiseberichte geben nur sehr wenig über die Lebensbedingungen und Schwierigkeiten preis, mit denen sich die Pilger an Bord der Pilgerschiffe konfrontiert sahen. Die Themen, denen man in diesen Berichten am häufigsten begegnet, handeln von den heiligen Orten oder den Grabstätten verschiedener Heiliger, die man unterwegs besichtigen sollte. Nur äußerst selten wird über die Reisevorbereitung, die Überfahrt und das Leben an Bord geschrieben. Man kann davon ausgehen, dass die Verfasser dieser Berichte es nicht fü
