About the Book

Christie Cole was ready to begin her career as a Special Agent for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. A new graduate of the FBI Academy in Quantico, Virginia, she eagerly awaited her first assignment.
She was to accept an undercover role in a branch of the FBI she never knew existed - a secret arm of the Bureau that reached into the inner core of governments worldwide. To conceal her true identity and to protect her life and her assignment, she would take on the persona of a newly created woman, Ann Marie Beaudet. Christie Cole would cease to exist on the face of the earth. Her investigation into the private and professional life of a Justice of the U. S. Supreme Court would take her to the depths of international intrigue, and place her in harm's way from enemies of the United States. She would soon be at the center of an international conflict of disastrous proportions reaching the countdown to nuclear war.
Ann Marie Beaudet's harrowing experiences make Voices in the Fog a page turner from beginning to end.
Chief Thomas J. Nichols' law enforcement career began in the Tucson, Arizona Police Department. He retired as Deputy Chief from that department to accept the leadership of the Lubbock, Texas Police Department. He later retired from municipal policing to accept the challenges of a rapidly changing society by establishing the Lubbock School District Police Department.
Thomas still holds that position, as well as numerous assignments on local and state boards and commissions that address the issue of crime and violence. He has published local, regional, state and national articles in journals on policing techniques and school safety, and has penned an award winning novel and short story.
A graduate of the University of Arizona, magna cum laude, the chief also graduated from the FBI National Academy, the FBI Executive Development Program, the Senior Management Institute for Police, and many other training programs on organized crime, narcotic and dangerous drug investigations, and executive protection. His experience has ranged from being a rookie jailer to administering multi-agency covert narcotic and organized crime investigations, serving at the rank of Chief for over twenty-five years, then to executive protection for heads of state. He has testified numerous times before legislative bodies on issues of crime and punishment, and was acknowledged as a criminal justice expert witness at the District Court level.
His service to the community has ranged from serving as President of Hospice of Lubbock, President of the Rotary Club of Lubbock, and as a member of the Lubbock Symphony Board. He was awarded the Salpointe High School Alumni Service Award for his service to the community, and is a Paul Harris Fellow.
Married and a father of two grown children, the author resides on the high plains of the Llano Estacado of Texas.
