Fue Susan Sontag quien dijo que en lugar de una hermenéutica, necesitamos una erótica del arte. Eso es lo que Kintto Lucas hace en el "Laberinto del Amor" habla de literatura, música, filosofía, erotismo, de la vida en boca de dos amantes Azul y Luza, una pareja en medio de laberintos y en el espejo de la vida. Azul (bahiana) que mantiene una historia de amor con Luza (montevideano) en Brasil. Uno es el reflejo del otro.

También Sontag dijo: mi idea del escritor es de alguien que está interesado en todo. Eso define perfectamente a Kintto Lucas, un escritor que construye desde su literatura un universo común que esta interrelacionado de distintas formas. Hay un vínculo literario y espiritual en su obra, que no tiene tiempos, porque al fin de cuentas "el tiempo es relativo".

En el "Laberinto de la Soledad", a través de la voz de Luza sabemos cómo se conoció con Azul cuando se rompió un puente, y luego retomaron la relación en la Casa de Juana donde chicas estudiantes se ganaban un dinero ejerciendo de acompañantes a hombres. Sabemos que ella estudia literatura, y el también se siente poeta, al menos cuando escribe con Azul. Empezamos a entender la razón de la profundidad de sus pensamientos literarios y políticos y la poesía que hay en ellos. Pero también hablan de sombras que acechan, cada vida tiene sombras: "El amor es nuestra razón de ser, es como nuestra sombra perpetua, o tal vez el amor sea nuestra locura de ser".

Kintto Lucas es un autor migrante, su literatura es de muchos lados, se siente parte ecuatoriano y parte uruguayo, pero también vivió en Brasil varios años. A pesar de sentirse de muchos lados y de ninguno, siente también nostalgias del sur donde se crió. De alguna forma eso se ve reflejado en Luza y en Azul. Los dos son migrantes y nostálgicos. Vivir es ser otro más que una novela, es un gran poema y ensayo filosófico sensiblemente humano.

Hermann Hesse, en su libro El Lobo estepario, describió un juego de abalorios en una galería con espejos donde se multiplicaban reflejos al infinito y nos invitó a un viaje a través de la réplica humana como una forma de extravío entre laberintos. Algo parecido me sucedió al leer el libro de Kintto Lucas, Vivir es ser otro. La primera pregunta que me asaltó es por qué vivir no es ser uno mismo. La respuesta rebuscada se la encuentra entre líneas de un texto formidable que nos lleva y trae de la mano por una introspección filosófica. De página a página la lectura del libro invita a ir, de espejo en espejo, descubriendo el reflejo del género humano.
