Foreword
Practice makes perfect. I am not sure this is always the case, but practice certainly helps in
knowledge acquisition and exam preparation. This book has been created by enthusiastic
young teachers, who both practice and teach these specialties as part of their weekly lives.
In my opinion, the clinical specialties covered in this book are fascinating and exciting
areas of the nursing curriculum.
Knowledge and understanding of these areas of clinical practice are essential and what
is the better way to check your knowledge than by answering questions on the subject?
This book will help and guide you. Good luck!

It gives us immense pleasure and satisfaction in introducing a guide on viva questions in
nursing. The textbooks available are focused on large theoretical knowledge. This imposes
students to learn vast matter on each book in nursing.
We ultimately decided to write a compact, comprehensive and practically-oriented
book of nursing. This book aims at reducing the anxiety and stress during exam periods.
This book will be a help to the students by providing them with instant, short and accurate
answers to the questions asked during viva voce. It provides easy way to remember the
points and memorize the facts in sequence without ambiguity.
The primary readers of this book will be the undergraduate students who are learning
gynecology and midwifery, psychiatric and pediatric nursing, i.e. BSc Nursing 3rd and 4th
year students. This book has been written in simple style and has been kept handy so that
student nurses will be delighted to use it anywhere during their preparation of examination.
We hope that this guide is an earnest attempt to give enough exposure to nursing
knowledge in a nutshell. We assure sure success of this guide's readers by achieving good
grades in practical and competitive exams.
We are aware that for manifold reasons, errors might have crept in and shall feel obliged,
if such errors are brought to our notice. These suggestions will help us to improve and bring
about an improvised learning in other publication.
