About the Book

The largest and most powerful telescope in the world, the E-ELT, built on a lonely mountaintop in the Atacama Desert of Chile has just come on-line. It's been a long day, three astronomers are on duty but only one stays up and monitor a test run in the Pavo Constellation. in the middle of the night the telescope sends out an alert to the astronomers on duty that an unexpected variable star is showing up in the Delta Pavonis System, an older G8 star only 19.92 light years away that does not have a known companion. This 'star' is registering a light signature that can't possibly be from a naturally occurring star. So the race is on for two brilliant astronomers and one particularly brilliant IT professional/astronomer assistant to crack the code using the highly advanced technology they have on hand and to figure out who sent it and why. This novel is full of surprises, advanced artificial intelligence, several alien races, an ancient interplanetary alliance, new worlds and new civilizations. The Visitors, Part 1 is an introduction to a whole other World populated by highly advanced, benevolent AI (artificial intelligence) embodied in an actual artificial life-form named Utu who is a photonic energy being who's advanced programming allows it to pull energy from the air and environment around him. The story begins at the World's largest telescope currently being built atop Cerro Armazones in Northern Chile; the driest part of the Atacama Desert. The ELT which stands for Extremely Large Telescope is the crowning achievement of the ESO (European Southern Observatory) and is in the Antofagasta Region of Chile. The city proper is on the coast so it is a beautiful area to explore and is mentioned several times in the book. The Atacama Desert also has many beautiful geological formations that are brought to life with photographs and illustrations throughout the novel. The primary alien race lives on a planet in the Delta Pavonis System, 19.2 light years from Earth. The star is aging, so it is prone to frequent coronal mass ejections or CME. The Lįnqü Ånū òt', a bird-like species, has formed an Alliance with other species in the system, The Great Alliance of Anu (Delta Pavonis). These aliens have visited the Earth in the past. The Alliance also comprises four intelligent species, two from the planet and two from its habitable moon. They are followers of a philosophical race of beings from a long-dead world from a star system that is now a white dwarf at the center of the Helix Nebula in the Constillation of Aquarius known as The Guild of the Guardians. This mighty Alliance has built three massive 'ark' ships, one of which is on its way to Earth. The ark is a World unto itself inside a rotating torus which creates artificial gravity. The Alliance is also the founding member of an overseer organization known as the Council of the Five Worlds. The Guardians have strong ties to four regions of the Earth in its ancient past, the Indus Valley Civilization, the Mesopotamian Civilization, the Nile Valley Civilization and the Mesoamericana Civilization. I touch lightly upon these relationships in this book, which is part 1 in the series. I will write the Guild into the other parts of the series in the future. There are also two underlying mysteries going in the background, the negative, disruptive influence of "the Greys" and an ancient alien artifact discovered on the Far Side of the Moon that dates back to the period of the dinosaurs.
