About the Book

Leon Parker is a little boy who likes to ride his bike after school, and sit under a big tree looking up at the sky. He wishes he could play high up in the clouds. One day Leon gazes up at the clouds and suddenly sees a face. Through the white puffy clouds he sees what looks like a little boy his age! Billowy (Billy) McFluff lives up in the sky in Cloudy-Town and just like Leon, wondered about the people on the ground. He always wanted to meet a Below. Billy invites Leon to come up to Cloudy-Town and play together. Leon accepts eagerly and rides up a cloudy stairway on his bicycle to Cloudy-Town. Together they have the adventure of their lives, including a visit with the Snowflake kids of Snowy-Town, and the Raindrop kids of Rainy-Town. But just when things are getting exciting, the angry Gloomy Clouds, Thundering Drummers and Windy Gushes invade their fun and chase away the all the Cloudy-Town and Rainy-Town kids. Leon frantically looks for his bike and the cloudy stairway to get home before the Gloomy Clouds and Thundering Drummers catch up to him!
About the Author: Ms Ciarico grew up in the suburbs of Chicago and was raised Catholic. She is the second eldest of 7 siblings. She began drawing at an early age, and grew interested in writing as an adolescent. She enjoyed many hours of sketching and conjuring up ideas for short stories and illustrated books. She decided to go back to school and earned a degree in Commercial Art in 1995. In 1997, Ms Ciarico fulfilled a burning desire to write and illustrate a children's picture book, and that's when Darcy the Daydreamer [her first book] was born. "The idea just sort of evolved from my own imagination and life experiences," commented Ms Ciarico. "As a child I daydreamed of accomplishing great and exciting things. My books reflect my adventurous spirit as a child. Initially, I only wanted the self enrichment of putting together a children's book. But as time went on, it became more important for me to share my books with the world. For four years, my first book (Darcy the Daydreamer) graced the pages of an old sketchbook which sat on a shelf collecting dust. I finally decided it was time to introduce Darcy to the world." In 1998 Ann Ciarico got a job at a local newspaper as a graphic designer. Here, she honed her skills and experience needed to digitize her manuscript and transform it into a picturebook. In 2002 the book was finally copyrighted and self-published. Darcy and the Bubble followed in 2012 as Darcy's second adventure, joining Darcy The Daydreamer on Kindle and Amazon. A Visit to Cloudy-Town is Ms Ciarico's third children's book, self-published in Feb. 2015, with a brand new storyline and characters. "I hope people all over the world will continue to embrace my children's books and love their characters and adventures. My big dream is to give a portion of the proceeds to charity to help disadvantaged kids live a better life. I want my books to become children's classics, timeless favorites among all children and adults." - Ann M. Ciarico
