As an avid swimmer, sailor and everything to do with the sea, I never thought I could commit to permanently staying on land. Not until I moved to Jorvik and set eyes on the one woman who couldn't stand me: Astrid Skau.
Since I nearly got her father killed, I didn't blame Astrid for hating me, but I also couldn't stop thinking about her. Not only was Astrid beautiful with her long, curly raven hair, deep hazel eyes and ruby lips, but she was funny, smart, witty and never afraid to put me, the respectable Captain of The Serpent, in my place. It's easier to pretend to hate her than admit my feelings until I can't do it any more, so I do the one thing I can think of. Propose. Except, I have competition.
Stuck in a love square I never asked to be a part of, I have my work cut out for me. Especially since I went from being her mortal enemy one day to a possible suitor the next.
Between convincing Astrid that she's the love of my life, having to compete for her hand in marriage and the Chief of Jorvik wanting to send me off on another long mission to retrieve what could possibly be the biggest bounty we've ever come across, I'm in way over my head.
