About the Author: A preacher's kid, Mike Gaymon worked as a teacher and coach in a middle school after graduating from college. He later became the coach and admissions director for a technical college.
He began his chamber of commerce career in 1976 and has led chambers in South Carolina, North Carolina, Alabama, and Georgia. He served as the president of the Alabama and Georgia Chamber Associations and was the CEO/president of the Greater Columbus Chamber of Commerce for over twenty-six years.
Selected by Georgia Trend as one of the top one hundred Georgians, he was the top presenter for the Georgia Tech Economic Development Basic Course and a top five instructor for the US Chamber of Commerce Institute.
He is married to Sheila, and together they have five children and five grandchildren.
