Nunca creí que un viaje de placer para conocer la Pampa Argentina, se pudiera convertir en un viaje iniciático además de físico. Pero ya al llegar, al ver la inmensidad de la pampa, comencé a sentirme pequeño y que algo cambiaba dentro de mí. Al ver al primer gaucho montado en su caballo, comencé a vivir la pampa. Su forma de hablar con el dejo característico de Argentina, y las palabras propias de su lenguaje, así como su indolencia sobre el equino, terminaron de crear la ruptura de aquello a que estaba acostumbrado y fue el principio de mi viaje iniciático. El físico había comenzado cuando tomé la decisión de viajar a Argentina. Respiré profundamente, como si intentara introducir la esencia de la pampa en mis pulmones y mi espíritu. El olor era diferente, el sol calentaba con fuerza, el gaucho no era viejo. Y todo me hacía presagiar una interesante aventura física e iniciática. Poco después, el gaucho me presentó a sus compañeros, y entre ellos resaltaba un viejo de tez cobriza que indicaba su ascendencia india. Los miré a todos reunidos, y me sentía en el lugar que había querido estar, en la pampa argentina rodeado de gauchos. Y aunque físicamente me sentía cansado, anímicamente estaba exultante. Desde muy joven sentí una atracción por la figura del gaucho y de la pampa argentina. Me encantaban los tangos, las zambas y las payas argentinas, que sin saber el porqué las asociaba a los gauchos. El viejo se llamaba Tasco, y era un verdadero pozo de sapiencia y conocimientos sobre la pampa argentina y a su modo, también sobre una vieja argentina que ya solo existía allí en esa inmensa llanura. Comencé a conocer las historias de un Viejo Gaucho al que idolatraba el viejo Tasco, ya que le había enseñado todo lo que sabía. Mi viaje físico, se convirtió en otro viaje en la cultura, un viaje en el tiempo, un viaje del espíritu que causó una revolución iniciática. La iniciación de alguien que se adentraba en un mundo nuevo, con una cultura diferente, viajando físicamente con el ganado y los gauchos, pero intelectualmente a sus costumbres y rasgos atávicos. El cansancio era fuerte y mi físico se resentía a pesar de ser joven. Pero mi sed de conocimientos me espoleaba a iniciarme en esos conocimientos. Las historias del Viejo Gaucho me despertaban un interés especial, sobre todo por el modo de contarlas el viejo Tasco. Al llegar las noches me ponía a cavilar sobre di era más importante el viaje físico o el viaje iniciático a que me había visto abocado. Llegando a la conclusión que sin lugar a dudas era el iniciático, ya que estaba cambiando mi manera de ver y sentir la vida. La pampa, entre hombres que la amaban profundamente y que sentían Argentina en las venas, estaban inundando mi espíritu y cambiando mis costumbres. Me sentía como un sacerdote indio o un chaman que se iniciaba en los ritos de un mundo diferente, que lo cambiaba físicamente y espiritualmente. Pero me sentía eufórico, estaba dispuesto a conocer profundamente la Pampa Argentina, a los gauchos y sus antiguas costumbres. Su vida solitaria en medio de la inmensa llanura y el conocimiento de los seres que la habitaban.
