Dans ce témoignage autobiographique, Sonia FIQUET nous raconte comment elle a fini par découvrir son propre autisme à 52 ans sans que jamais personne ne soupçonne cette vérité, ce trouble neurodéveloppemental qui a impacté toute sa vie.

A travers un parcours chaotique aussi bien au niveau de sa santé physique que psychologique, elle nous décrit les étapes: l'hypersensibilité, l'intensité, les problèmes relationnels récurrents, le décalage au quotidien. L'errance dans ce parcours où les professionnels de la santé ne voient pas son réel handicap mais le confondent avec du HPI. L'incompréhension de sa famille, de ses amis dans ses choix, ses positionnements mais également dans le cadre professionnel.

Elle nous montre à travers son parcours comment l'autisme était bien présent depuis le début, camouflé par un haut potentiel qui faisait d'elle une personne incomprise par la société. Jugée instable, colérique, bizarre, pédante, arrogante voire égocentrique alors qu'elle passait son temps à analyser les situations, à se remettre en question sans comprendre ce qui dans son comportement agaçait tant les autres et l'éloignait d'une vie paisible et sereine.

Elle nous délivre son message comme elle le peut: avec intensité, avec sa vision car ce qu'elle en retire c'est que vivre avec le handicap de l'autisme sans en avoir conscience est la pire des choses quand la question qui revient sans cesse est pourquoi ? .

Sonia souhaite que son récit permettre à d'autres personnes comme elle, en recherche de réponse, de se reconnaitre dans ces comportements et qu'ils puissent à leur tour accéder à la compréhension de ce qu'ils sont pour vivre enfin en paix avec eux-mêmes.

Elle souhaite également parler de cet autisme particulier, celui dit de haut niveau, trop mal connu et pourtant de plus en plus courant, les mutations génétiques continuant de se propager de façon exponentielle.
